Justice Kennedy either does not believe in God, or is unaware of the fact that God burned two cities to death by fire as a consequence of Homosexuality. I regard these two events as the measure of his level of disapproval on the subject.
In his ruling Justice Kennedy has effectively thrown down the gauntlet and challenged God to do something about it. I'm thinking that if he lives long enough to see it, he isn't going to like God's response.
Whether Kennedy realizes it or not, The Judeo-Christian principles are responsible for Western Civilization. They created the conditions which allowed the West to develop and grow into the prosperity it now has today.
Simple rules like "Thou shalt not Steal", and "Thou Shalt not commit Adultery"* are responsible for creating a functional society and giving us the prosperity we have today, but the whole thing isn't a buffet menu, it is a consolidated set of principles, and to erode one of them undermines the whole system and encourages unbelief.
If unbelief spreads, the other societal rules will fall as well. If there is no consequence to breaking one of the rules, then people will begin to think that there will be no consequences to breaking the others, and eventually the entire system will descend into a struggle of animalistic urges. As has been said before, Life will become "Nasty, Brutish, and Short."
To summarize, just from the obvious social dynamics, the consequences of defying God, will be axiomatic and unavoidably bad.

Reagan and his advisors should have known better than to nominate a judge from the most liberal federal court in the nation.

Not certain if you were trying to deflect from my point that two practicing and current Roman Catholics voted for this ruling in opposition to the stated teachings and traditions of the RCC, not to mention the entire Judeo-Christian remnant of American civilization still extant.

More like Reagan was burned out after what the left did to Bork, and this associate of his was the only one the left would go for. Reagan’s presidency was always an uphill battle, FWICS. And of course, Reagan is long gone now.

Perhaps God will ‘remove’ this dead soul Kennedy during his sleep ... soon. But this is all really a distraction from the real issue, which is the lawlessness of the current Roberts court. The court is the tool of leftists who hate the Constitutional Republic because it restrains their agenda. So they just go around that old piece of paper, with the gleeful assistance of dead souls sitting on the bench.
Just out of curiosity, why wouldn’t you believe what God says is so? Why bother to believe in Him if you believe that what He says is untrue?

To the best of my knowledge, neither Sotomayor nor Kennedy attends any church, Catholic background notwithstanding. The court was stacked for this decision. Kagan is openly gay, and should have recused herself. Kennedy has proven bias, and should have recused himself. Sotomayor, Bader Ginsburg (despite marriage to a man) and Roberts all strongly suspected of being gay.
I hope to see these “outed” as a prelim for a conservative President to pressure them to resign and get a new court to overrule this odious garbage.
However, Bader Ginsburg likely to step down, now that she has done her “legacy” gay marriage ruling. That would give Obama the opportunity to put another extremist on the court.
Given this current fool's talent for rushing in where angels fear to tread, the possibility that we will once more live in fear of Russian nukes also becomes much more highly probable.
You don't seem to have noticed, but my argument was utilitarian in the first place. It was just crouched in religious concepts and terminology.
They certainly must think of themselves as something of that sort. If they were believers, they ought to be terrified at what they have done. I very much doubt they are.
