Kennedy: "Your move God."
Today. | Me.

Posted on 06/27/2015 11:04:07 AM PDT by DiogenesLamp

Justice Kennedy either does not believe in God, or is unaware of the fact that God burned two cities to death by fire as a consequence of Homosexuality. I regard these two events as the measure of his level of disapproval on the subject.

In his ruling Justice Kennedy has effectively thrown down the gauntlet and challenged God to do something about it. I'm thinking that if he lives long enough to see it, he isn't going to like God's response.

Whether Kennedy realizes it or not, The Judeo-Christian principles are responsible for Western Civilization. They created the conditions which allowed the West to develop and grow into the prosperity it now has today.

Simple rules like "Thou shalt not Steal", and "Thou Shalt not commit Adultery"* are responsible for creating a functional society and giving us the prosperity we have today, but the whole thing isn't a buffet menu, it is a consolidated set of principles, and to erode one of them undermines the whole system and encourages unbelief.

If unbelief spreads, the other societal rules will fall as well. If there is no consequence to breaking one of the rules, then people will begin to think that there will be no consequences to breaking the others, and eventually the entire system will descend into a struggle of animalistic urges. As has been said before, Life will become "Nasty, Brutish, and Short."

To summarize, just from the obvious social dynamics, the consequences of defying God, will be axiomatic and unavoidably bad.

.

.

*(Not really an accurate translation, "Adultery" is the closest English word, but it really means any sort of sex outside of marriage, including homosexual sex.)

So anyone who doesn't believe in the everything in the Bible is 100% literally true, cannot believe in God? Nonsense. What you call "fact" is a belief based on faith, not any actual evidence. That's fine, but it means nothing to anyone who doesn't share your faith, whether they believe in God or not.

Jesus said don’t fear man who can only kill the body but fear Him who has power and life over body and spirit-—on earth and for eternal destination-—. meaning fear God

“In his ruling Justice Kennedy has effectively thrown down the gauntlet and challenged God to do something about it.”

God is already doing something about it, thank you.

Obama is no coincidence; nor is it a coincidence that America is in the sh*tter and going down.

That certainly makes the fire and brimstone destruction far outsized for mere “lack of hospitality”, doesn’t it. Genesis 18:20 describes Sodom’s sin as “very grievous”, and “lack of hospitality” does not fit such a description, nor is threatening to sodomize Lot’s guests a mere “lack of hospitality”.

And do not forget the battle of Gibeah.

This too was triggered by an attempt by the male townsfolk to rape a male traveler. Once again, the City was destroyed, and very nearly the tribe of Benjamin was almost wiped out because of homosexuality.

Three examples in the Bible of Homosexuals trying to molest travelers, and three utterly destroyed Cities as a consequence.

One would think people might get the message or something.

I would very much recommend against anyone joining the Military. The way things are going, I should not be surprised to discover they make participation in homosexual acts a mandatory part of training.

John Jay, First Chief-Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court

Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is their duty – as well as privilege and interest – of our Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers.

The Bible is the best of all books, for it is the word of God and teaches us the way to be happy in this world and in the next. Continue therefore to read it and to regulate your life by its precepts.

The bible is 100% truth, not necessarily 100% factual or literal. One must understand the vast amount of literary forms the bible contains. The Story of creation - myth full of symbolism; Abraham - legend; Acts - historical; (plus parables, lamentations, etc.). It is also built predominantly on oral histories.

One has to work hard to get to God’s truth (sometimes) - but is in there and is inviolate.

Whether or not the history recorded in the Bible is true or not is irrelevant to the fact that it is a belief in the religion of the bible which is the underpinning foundation of this country.

It is on the strength of religion that people find the will power to follow the commandments and other teachings. Without a belief in the Divine powers, no one would feel compelled to follow the other teachings.

Without the people voluntarily following the commandments and teachings in the bible, civilization would never have advanced beyond the Roman stage.

Some naturally occurring ideas are simply incompatible with higher levels of civilization.

I am thinking that if you had read and understood my point in the post at the top of this thread, you would realize that the consequences do not need a supernatural factor to manifest themselves.

Indeed, they will manifest themselves because Justice Kennedy has taken another step towards removing the supernatural factor.

That supernatural factor is a necessary component of our existing system, and without it we shall revert back to an older barbaric societal organization.

Where did I defend Kenney? I think his decision was a travesty, not for religious reasons, but because I believe in the constitution and a democratic republic. I also think it’s bad policy for it’s own sake. But saying the story of Sodom is fact, or that if you don’t believe it’s fact you can’t believe in God is nonsense. That’s hardly a defense of Kennedy, just an attempt to promote logical arguments, unlike the your non sequiter.

In the case of Sodom and Gommorah, the Divine Zot was delivered after Lot and his family got out.

“Democratic” republic? Not in the Constitution. Hast thou been in California too long?

Attacking people’s beliefs for no reason and having no context for them is the nonsequitur.

True. But also irrelevant to my point. As for the rest of your response, that's a utilitarian argument, which does not require faith to accept, and can therefore be effective even on those who don't share your faith.

Huh?

The Bible is filled with examples demonstrating your personal sin doesn't just effect you.

Romans 14:7 - "For none of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself."

Achan's entire family was stoned and burned to death because of his defiance of God.

I didn’t say a democracy, and I didn’t capitalize Democratic, and specifically said “republic”. A democratic republic is one where the officials are chosen by the people. The alternative is a non-democratic republic, eg. the USSR. Justice Scalia also refers to our system of government in the same way when he makes his point that the court’s ruling takes the issue out of the political process as being non-democratic.

And I never “attacked” anyone’s beliefs.

I didn’t say you said “democracy”, nor did I imply my own capitalism (at the start of a sentence) was yours (I admit I ought to have put the capital D in parentheses for clarity). But you did say “democratic republic”, which is a title of more than one communist state and never at any time was the title of any state of the Union or the federal government.

And reviewing post 21, it certainly resembles a defense of Kennedy, based on one poster’s assertions that the justice has no belief in God or the historic destruction of Sodom and Amorah; as well as an attack on people’s beliefs.
