BRISTOL: Choosing Humiliation Over Convenience: “The Five” Comes to My Defense
Patheos.com ^ | July 2, 2015 | Bristol Palin

Posted on 07/02/2015 1:54:00 PM PDT by Resettozero

Thank you to “The Five” co-host Greg Gutfeld for calling out the media for their absurdity!

The Daily Caller reports: “The Five” co-host Greg Gutfeldblasted Bristol Palin’s haters Tuesday after her pregnancy announcement, saying they “would have been more supportive” if she simply had an abortion.

The Fox News personality went on to praise the daughter of Sarah Palin for choosing “humiliation over convenience,” adding that she “took the pain, for it was more humane.”

“I get it, of course, the media would have been more supportive if she had an abortion. But then if she had, they never would have known she had the abortion and would miss out on the laughs. So good for them that she chose a pulse over a procedure and its burdens and punishment,” Gutfeld said.

How pathetic is it that the media would be more supportive of me if I had chosen to kill my baby? Instead, they mock me because I am willing to choose to do what is natural and right—keep my precious baby. And as a reminder, I never worked or pushed abstinence down anyone’s throat! I have always promoted pro-life and teen pregnancy prevention over all. Never once has it been “abstinence only”

I’ve messed up, but I’ve owned up to my mistake and am trying to move forward. I’m so excited to raise my little blessing and see all that God has in store for this precious life!

(Thanks to the people at The Five for their comments.)

That’s right!

If I don’t fawn over Bristol Palin, I must be a liberal.

Enjoy that cult of personality.

Just tell me you don’t go prancing around throwing handfuls at people.

This girl just can’t shut up.

Strange imaginations you have there. Just like Alinsky, you accuse without foundation. Deflect in an attempt to deceive.

Picking on a 'girl' your word, does seem a bit liberal in conservative circles. No fawning required. Silence is much preferred.

No one said it is a standard. But what exactly would you like them to do now? They can’t fix it.

There is that little problem of Dakota already being married.

I guess you already answered my question. You want them to marry. I don’t have enough details to know. I have to stay with it is their decision. Sure the children need a mother and a father. But a broken home with peace is sometimes better than a together one with war.

These days marriage is a gay thing, nothing to do with pregnancy

You know what, Hound? Can we have a little socratic dialogue on the topic of domestic realpolitik?
OK,
If this were anyone but Sarah Palin’s daughter, man—I would probably be grumbling, Hey! another “single mother” acting like she’s something special—you know how they make a big deal out of it on TV, like it’s glamorous and a badge of honor—instead of what it really is: a grueling life for a young women without rich parents, working two or three jobs, barely able to pay child care costs. Dead tired all the time.
And a shame as well, in the old-fashioned sense of the word: the world we grew up in, and just another burden on society when they go on welfare. And there’s the raising of a child or children without a Dad, when she’s lucky to heat up frozen dinners in the evening.
And there’s the especially regrettable `screwing the pooch’ once already aspect, leaving us to think, will there be even more drama?

SH: But tumblin, having a favorable opinion of her simply because she is the daughter of someone you really like... isn’t that called “special pleading”? Doesn’t that make us as bad as, say, Democrats who continued to `carry water’ for swine like Bill Clinton, even after they knew what he had done? Doesn’t that affect your integrity, or your respect for yourself?

I suppose.

SH: Well, what if everyone here thought that way? What if they were completely partisan, `knee-jerk’ supporters of friends. Or foes to political enemies and blind to objective truths? You know, that whole ‘man is the measure of all things’ thing. What makes us different from a toxic dump filled with DU liars?

Gee I dunno but I’d be a damned fool to think any differently here, wouldn’t I?

At the time of the cancelled wedding, Bristol stated that she knew of his circumstances, and that he was married and divorced.

There is some huge element missing in the whole picture. Something that has not been said, despite Bristol’s regular public statements, and Dakota’s stony silence.

She’s 24. An adult.

What’s with your Alinsky fixation? Did you just read the book and enjoy tossing the word into conversation at every opportunity?

As for your attempt to dictate “silence” to me...

Are you a moderator?

Did you purchase the site?

....No?

Then I think you probably know the appropriate storage place for your little directive.

“Based on what she said previously, this child was planned.”

That’s even worse, to collect tens (hundreds?) if thousands of dollars to promote abstinence and then deliberately have a child out of wedlock.

It’s the part where she spends her life in the spotlight, taking money for saying things she clearly does not believe or practice.

Shaming other women by name for the way they live their lives while doing the exact same things she criticizes.

Announcing every aspect of her love life on social media.

Bringing yet another fatherless child into the world.

And calling people names for doing what she herself does.

In short, for taking money and talking the talk, but never learning to do the hard part of walking the walk.

She’s not a good role model, though she holds herself up to be. At best she is a horrible example.

Those who excuse and condone her behaviour are just as bad. It is not better if a so-called conservative parades men in and out of her child’s life or has a series of out of wedlock babies.
