Arnold Schwarzenegger and a team of male strippers are no match for a plucky pre-teen and the mighty Indominus rex.
Inside Out and Jurassic World are racing ahead of newcomers Magic Mike XXL and Terminator Genisys in the lead-up to the July 4th holiday. The Disney and Pixar animated blockbuster about the emotional life of a young girl racked up $7.7 million on Thursday, bringing its North American haul to $216.1 million, while Universals dinosaur thriller added $6.9 million to its $527.2 million domestic haul.

It takes a lot to get me to the theatres. Most are rank these days. Jurassic World did not let me down.
Gonna need a bigger gun
Welcome!
Master and Commander is one of my favorites.
Mike sounds like a big winner.....in the gay men community.
Master and commander was good. But did you know the series of books had as the antagonist, the fledgling USA in the run up to the war of 1812?
They changed the enemy to French for the current English speaking ally.
All trash, not getting my hard-earned dollars!
I don’t go to movies any more.
Last weekend I took my daughter to see “Inside Out.” We both thoroughly enjoyed it.
It’s smart, funny, cute and has a good storyline. The respectful treatment of the family was refreshing.
Master and Commander is my favorite movie ever.
It was only after seeing the movie I learned about and read Patrick O’Brian’s series of books. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
My godson who is seven, almost eight wants to see Minions. His mom is going to have some minor surgery next week so I promised him I’d take him out to see it on that day.
Movie and then we will have dinner at Chuck E Cheese. I’ve never been there.
I hope I can survive this! :)
Ha! Had lots of dino fun watching Jurassic World. Think I’ll go see it again. Didn’t really enjoy Inside Out. The “outside” girl’s character is not very endearing.
I just got around to seeing Age of Ultron, so I’m a little behind.
Inside Out is awesome.
Nope. It's been done before. In fact, it was the exact same premise of the 90s TV series "Herman's Head"
I missed that one. (I have not watched much TV in a long time!)
It’s not the idea it’s the execution.
But the people gushing over this Pixar film for its "originality" are saying "its the most original PREMISE I've heard!!", rather than praising the film for its execution.
The execution may be very different than the 90s sitcom, that doesn't change the fact that the "Every day person's emotions are personified as characters who clash with one another inside the person's head" has been done before.
It’s been done in medieval morality plays too.
One is for everyone, one could be more for families with older kids, one is more for men and one is for women and gay men.
No brainer which would have the better box office returns especially on a holiday weekend. The family friendly ones will always win.
