Joe Bastardi ping.

You may need to watch this one twice, but this is what I got out of it.
El Nino-caused low pressure in East Pac. High pressure tropical south of Florida...Causing less hurricane activity than expected. System west Florida gulf could cross over, come out east coast and intensify, but there’s no way to tell now. If, while system is working its way across to the east coast, any kind of a hurricane comes in, the two could combine, which is a similar situation to Sandy, where a storm came in from the north and combined with a low-intensity hurricane.
El Nino’s influence on winter will probably be weaker than the ‘97-’98 El Nino because, although the SOI may be the same, there just isn’t the same amount of warm water piled up against Peru.
And there you have it.
I need a beer.

There’s some concern in Kalifornia that the El Nino won’t track sufficiently north to provide the required drought-busting snowpack in the Sierras.

I think our biggest problem is still that ridge over west Canada.

If normal is 2” then 167% is only 3.34” but I’m guessing you are averaging more than that.

I’m excited to be at 133% because we could actually see some snow.

I’ll be watching that Florida rain for development and, I heard it here first!

I’m in SE Virginia close to Norfolk. We have four mild seasons and occasional tropical systems. Hope this Florida system doesn’t come roaring up the coast.

Excellence,
You certainly deliver a more concise and readable summary than Joe himself! Thanks for pinging and summarizing.

I don’t think so. I can’t post pictures from my phone, but when I get to my computer I’ll be able to.
You might check out weather bell, a lot of charts are on the free side.
