Indeed! I happened to catch the end of one of the national “news” programs earlier this evening. They were preening themselves over how the dead lion’s brother was “watching over and guarding the dead lion’s cubs”....
What an utter load of bullshit! Which made me recall a documentary I watched some time back. It showed that as a lion is defeated as head lion, the new guy on the block goes around and kills all the previous leader’s cubs. That way the females will go into heat and then be impregnated by the new ‘king’-therefore keeping his bloodline going.
Animals are NOT human (and never will be!) despite these idiot’s best intentions.
When was the last Zimbabwean farmer hacker to death? We have been conditioned by the media and have some pretty pathological values.

And yes, there is definitely an anti-American aspect to the reporting and the commentary. That’s because everything is Locke versus Rousseau for these people, whether they’re conscious of it or not, and America is Locke.

Reminds me of the unbelievable (and quick) response over the Confederate flag. I’m guessing that the powers that be are ready to jump on whatever small item might fit their agenda. And once it gets critical mass on the internet the media picks up on it, etc. Like a shark feeding frenzy.
Both the flag and the lion have white guys to blame. Rich white guys with the lion. Even better. Yesterday I saw a photo of the Trump son’s with a dead Cheetah - that is probably more to the point of this whole frenzy.

I just posted on another thread about Cecil that I watched in horror as a feral tom cat killed our baby kittens just out side our back door. I thought that is what males cats do when they get a chance.
