I use to think the same thing, then, my wife made me watch it.

Big Bang is as close to a perfect sitcom that has been out since Drew Carry. Unfortunately, it seems to be undergoing a metamorphosis and becoming more drama than comedy. Kind of like MASH.

I know people just like the folks on the show. I find it rather realistic. It helps that there is a live studio audience of students from Cal-Tech in. They get the science.

“Those shows from the 60s are pure gold. Most of the stuff today is unwatchable.”

The writing in those shows was quite amazing and that is one industry which has really gone downhill.

My wife and I watch old movies and I love the fine writing. I would swear that many of the writers of that time were trained in radio. Man, they could turn out the lines.

Bob Newhart was a running guest on the show. I started watching it because I saw him on one episode as I was flipping the channels, so I figured it must not be all that bad. I heard later that he was a big fan of the show.

“Where Indian fights are colorful sights where nobody takes a lickin’.
Where paleface and redskin both turn chicken.”

Or something like that.

Hekawi are lovers, not fighters.

Melody was short of 18 when F Troop ended. Don’t know how old “Wrangler Jane was supposed to be, but I recall ‘Laura Petrie” married at 17 .. a few years before episode 1

That’s too bad. She was a li’l cutie. Reminded me somewhat of Elly May (who passed some eight months ago).

Forrest Tucker later on made a western comedy with Bob Denver {Gilligan} called The Wackiest Wagon Train In The West. F-Troop was one of my favorites growing up. Who was the almost blind cannon-man? Vanderbilt?

I thought it was called "Dusty's Trail."

That's the name of the theme song.

Dusty's the reason for their plight
Thanks to Dusty nothings right. LOL

To find the movie look up The Wackiest Wagon Train in The West. I have the DVD right in front of me is why I'm certain about the title. Tucker was the Wagon Master and Denver {Dusty} was his hired help.
