Marciano was a HEAVY WEIGHT. Marciano was UNDEFEATED. Why do they try to make this guy’s record seem remotely similar? Please.

The big difference between Mayweather and Marciano is that Marciano didn’t try to avoid contact with his opponent.

His last so called "fight" was a joke and should be thoroughly expunged from the record books.

As for your question; you already know the answer.

His 50th fight will bring in more money when he “comes out of retirement”.

Mayweather has made a fortune, and unlike most pro athletes he’s apparently been very careful with his money. But there’s no way this was his last fight - when a boxer announces his retirement, that means his actual retirement will be anywhere from 5 to 10 years down the road.

Yeah, that thought occurred to me.

#49 was a joke.

Please. Marciano never ran, either in the ring or out of it.

Mayweather is a small-boned, physically weak welterweight who would have had to fight as a lightweight in the time when there was legitimate boxing.

This is not HW. Welterweight.

Berto is a former champ (not that it matters much with multiple champs) but he was 3-3 in his last 6 coming into this.

Most people thought he had nothing to offer Mayweather, and they were right. He looked like he just showed up for a paycheck (4 mil, his biggest ever). The fight was also poorly promoted, not that they didn’t have their work cut out, but they could have done a better job with “Mayweather’s final fight”.

Amazing the contortions the “news” media shills go through in order to sell their product.

He was a lightweight, actually started one class below that, 130 lbs.

Too many weight classes. Too many champions per weight class. It’s sad what’s happened to that sport.
