Ben Carson Stumbles on Illegal Immigration, Ferguson
Right Wing News ^ | 9/14/2015 | Dave Blount

Posted on 09/14/2015 1:24:24 PM PDT by conservativejoy

Meanwhile, as Trump promises to rid the country of illegal aliens within 2 years, Ben Carson wants to give them guest worker status, and defends his stance with the doubtful claim that enforcing immigration law would lead to paying $4 for a tomato because only foreigners from the Third World are willing to work on farms.

To the extent it is true that Americans are unwilling to work on farms despite the alarmingly low labor force participation rate, this is a matter to be resolved by reining in the welfare state, not by leaving the border open.

Conservatives may also have a hard time swallowing this:

Carson says he probably wouldn’t have used deadly force against Michael Brown, the teenager whose fatal shooting by police Officer Darren Wilson sparked a national debate on race and the role of police.

Carson gave an interview to the Post-Dispatch on Friday afternoon after visiting Ferguson. When asked if he would have shot Brown if he were in Wilson’s shoes, Carson said: “It’s hard to say. I probably, knowing who he was, I probably just would have arrested him.”

Uh, Ben…

A Justice Department investigation concluded that Wilson had reason to fear for his life and thus couldn’t be prosecuted for fatally shooting the unarmed 18-year-old.

Suggesting that Darren Wilson had any choice is playing along with the liberal narrative — that is, ignoring reality and thereby splashing gasoline on the fire.

Carson’s heart is in the right place. He would make a great Surgeon General. But he does not appear to be the guy to undo Obama’s damage as President

Carson has joined the ‘hands up don’t shoot’ BLM bunch.

The only reason his poll numbers are high, in my opinion, is there are a lot of evangelical voters who don’t like Trump but who have also become aware of what a wasted vote a vote for Huckabee or Santorum would be.

Uh, Ben… again, this time vis-a-vis guest worker status

So you're going to give Mexicorruption the whole enchilada?

Guest workers? Ben, we have a problem

. . . before there could be a guest worker agreement Mexicorruption officials specified that

Castañeda imposed the requirement that

From various sources including this 2002 FR thread

Is Carson already a practicing politico to where he can feel that "we'll handle that matter when we get elected. We can count on support from the immigration industry and crony capitalism to silence the people."?

We had a very successful guest worker program for farm workers years. They would come for planting season and leave after the harvest. It only led to massive illegal immigration when housing, food stamps, education, health care, etc., became extraordinary benefits and incentives to stay.

Two things, both long overdue, would seriously curtail illegal invasion, if not end it outright.

1. Eliminate welfare. Don’t reform it, eliminate it.

2. Eliminate the minimum wage. Let the market set the price for unskilled labor.

I think you would find a great number of Americans willing to do the jobs Americans won’t do. And you would find, after a generation or so, that a great number of them will stop producing illegitimate children, and insisting that the ones they do have get an education to make a better life for themselves.

I suggested this to a liberal colleague, and of course her head exploded, as she spewed something about me wanting people to live like they were in a Dickens’ novel. My reply was:

“The postscript Dickens didn’t write was that all of those kids forged an Empire on which the sun never set.”

I think I might have a new tag leine.

A “gotcha” question that was handled badly.

Trump, Fiorina and Cruz handle these well. Carson does not.

Wrong answer: “It’s hard to say. I probably, knowing who he was, I probably just would have arrested him.”

(Speculation and a display of ignorance. Carson defaults to the MSM lies because that is all he knows.)

Right answer: “The Justice Department found that Darren Wilson reacted as best as he could. I am not in Officer Wilson’s shoes.”

(Facts. Only facts. Ends any re-phrased gotcha questions.)

Shortly after the George Zimmerman not guilty verdict in the Trayvon Martin killing, Carson was on Fox News (I was watching) and he said the proper verdict would have been a finding of manslaughter against Zimmerman. Add that to the material reported in this article, and Carson is unacceptable as our candidate.

Carson is kept alive by the blacks and those that are too soft on what America needs.

No it wasn't. Carson revealed what he's all about and it was good that he expressed what he really thinks this early in the winnowing of candidates. Recall that he also sided against George Zimmerman. For Bennie, all the matters is skin color.

National Review: "We won't."

Ann Coulter was just on Hannity and brought this up - hopefully, lots of people heard it.

But dont forget that Trump wants to let all the “good ones” back in “quickly” that he deports.

How about also stating the conditions that you so left out. Obvious where you stand.

Some time back Quanelle X (our Houston, Texas version of Sharpton) went through some staged situations with local police. Couple of times he realized that his inability to make a split second decision would have resulted in his death. Said words to the effect that he didn’t realize things happened “so fast”. Changed his tune a bit after that.

Maybe “Gentle Ben” needs to go to tactical school.

I believe if Carson got elected (and he won’t), he’d be like Colin Powell in the race department. He’s halfway there already.

“....only foreigners from the Third World are willing to work on farms.”

FUBC! I’m getting sick of the “he’s got a good heart” meme as well. The guy is onboard the Cheap Labor Express, an anti-gunner, and it sure seems like he’s thrown his support behind the BLM criminals too! Go away Ben!

Thanks for that info. I missed that on Zimmerman.

You’re right, totally unacceptable.
