Duty Is The Most Sublime Word In The English Language: Robert E. Lee
If anyone wonders why Robert E. Lee is still, to this very day, revered in the South, why so many Southerners claim to be a distant relation, this quote goes a long way to understanding the greatness of the man.

Guess I deduced that part, but still don't see what goblins have to do with it.
Wikipedia: "Hobgoblin is a term typically applied in folktales to describe a mischievous spirit." Ah, maybe I see now. Always thought it referred to something terrifying the little mind, seems it means something that foments mischief therein.

Legendary country artist and author Kinky Friedman would fit that bill. LOL.
He also happens to be the source of a great, profound quote that I always remember whenever I discuss political matters:
"The crowd always chooses Barabbas."

As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron. ― H.L. Mencken This made me laugh. It's just so true.

"The only thing that is free in this world is the cheese in the mousetrap." Armenian saying Akin to that quote is, "The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese!" Not sure who to attribute this to though.
