Want a gun? Take a bullet: Take this, gutless NRA cowards
Salon ^ | 10/16/2015 | D. Watkins

Posted on 10/17/2015 1:23:22 AM PDT by ScottWalkerForPresident2016

Gun control doesn't go far enough. If you want license to carry a weapon, you should know the pain of getting hit

As a teen I watched Chris Rock brilliantly address America’s gun problem during his Bigger and Blacker stand up. “We don’t need gun control,” Rock pleaded to a packed house, “We need bullet control––if bullets were $5000, people would think before they shot some one! You gotta really piss someone off for them to dump $50,000 worth of bullets in to you!” And just like the crowd, my brother, some friends and I erupted in laughter.

Rock was definitely on point, $5000 bullets would be great but I’d take it a step further––I believe that being shot should be requirement for gun ownership in America. It’s very simple. You need to have gun, like taking selfies with pistols, can’t live with out it? Then take a bullet and you will be granted the right to purchase the firearm of your choice.

If we could successfully implement this rule, I guarantee the mass shootings will stop. Watching cable news now in days makes me physically ill. Week in and week out we are forced to learn about another coward, who can’t stand to deal with the same rejection that most of us face–– so they strap themselves with guns and then cock and spray at innocent people. Heartbroken survivors and family member images go viral, as our elected officials remain clueless.

I got a sirius qarstion...is Salon owned by the ghetto tribe it writes about?

Just wondering because it does not seem like it has a clue the way the real world operates.

Want a gun? Take a bullet.

Now if I suggested "Want an abortion?.....," what would the reaction be?

The author should prove he is worthy of exercising freedom of expression by being beaten about the head with his laptop. It might even improve his writing quality.

You are exactly right, Watkins seems unable to appreciate that the logic of his argument flows both ways.

Gun praisers are just like the people who were in favor of slavery back in the day–– the elite, lazy and ignorant who weren’t being beaten, raped or in the field doing the work, so they were perfectly okay with involuntary servitude, which is a problem and why I think gun owners need to feel more––they need a taste of the other side.

Watkins' logic calls for just what you suggest, anybody who doesn't support the right to use firearms in self defense should have to endure the pain of some crime against them which could have been prevented or stopped if they were armed.

Of course Watkins' real problem is that is he is unwilling to examine the culture he admits growing up in and why it results in so much violence.

Agree, and simple cast bullets work great too.

But it is getting harder to find wheel weights that aren’t zinc alloy or steel now.

But I do have a supply.

Bullets are covered by the 2nd amendment. As are lasers and other technological advances that will be as readily available as idiots who want to tempt fate by trying to deny God given rights.

Carson’s responses to our nation’s gun problem, along with statements from the rest of the gang that make up the Republican candidates on the these mass shootings have been some of the most disrespectful, insensitive things I ever heard in my life...

The author must live a very sheltered life. Which also might explain the multiple levels of stupidity he displays in this article.

Of course, if authors had to pay $100 a word to get published, I bet a lot of these inane articles would stop.

Liberalism is a disease that infects the host and removes all rational thought.

Maybe folks should be required to turn in one dead liberal before they can get a CCW permit.

I say have the Federal Government fund the NRA to teach Gun Safety to women, minorities & low income families.

We taxpayers currently fund Planned Parenthood, why not NRA Gun Safety.

...watch heads explode.

The left is nuts. There is no other explanation.

Bad guys break the law.
Good guys follow the law.
The left passes laws to stop the bad guys who will in turn not follow that law either.
The good guys get oppressed while the bad guys grow in power.
The left rejoices about how safe things are getting because good people are free of their guns, just like in Chicago.

Shear lunacy.

If you want a pair of scissors, you must be stabbed.
If you want a kitchen knife, you must be sliced open.
If you want a book, you must be bashed on the head.
If you want a bathtub, you must fall and break your hip.
If you want a car, you must have a head on collision.
If you want a grill, you must be burned.
If you want a brick house, you must be stoned.
If you want a lover, you must have your heart ripped out and stomped on.
If you want to be a lib, you must have a lobotomy.

See, I can play that game, too.

The author doesn’t seem to notice that those cowards aren’t NRA types, they’re Democrats or their constituents.

I was told in a concealed carry class that one needs to expect spending ten grand on legal expenses if one fires his weapon in self defense.

It would appear that anti-gunners have already gotten their wish. Somehow it didn't help. What a surprise.

If bullets cost $1000 a piece, I would have plenty for self-defense. And yet I don't believe that would allow me to carry freely wherever I want. Not a single oppressive infringement would be eliminated. Liberals lie and won't be satisfied until there is a prohibition against pointy sticks.

We should give up NOTHING and demand all of our Second Amendment rights back.
