Happy songs sell records. Sad songs sell beer.

We used to call C&W "suicide music"

Bac before my hearing went south, I gravitated toward classical.

>> DECONSTRUCTING BOBBY GOLDSBORO’S “HONEY,”

Aw, reading that made me cry. Seriously! And roll on the floor and snort and stuff.

“William Tell Overture” is good on-ramp music, too.

And raise you one Minnie Riperton “Loving you”!

I can counter that with Al Martino's "To the Door of the Sun", with Phoebe Snow's "Poetry Man" to make up for Martino not being able to hit those high notes.

I like SOME of ALL music (except Rap, which is not music), but not ALL of any music.

After 15 years in radio, I’ve been exposed to most every genre and format, and, as an amateur musician, I’ve played most every type of music. I am retired now, no longer play in bands, but those experiences have left me with a well-rounded appreciation for music, in general.

I don't go on-ramp very often,
but when I do, I listen to
Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries.

Music written in minor keys is muted and often conjures up sad feelings.

Quartet singing makes everyone happy. This is my friend’s international champion Sweet Adelines quartet. (Debbie is on the right.)

Very nice. They remind me of my favorite all time quartet, the Chordettes, who recorded Born to Be with You, My Boy Lollipop, Mr Sandman, and many others back in the fifties.

Minnie Riperton’s “scream” was incredibly piercing to the ears and mind.

Debbie’s group has probably done a lot of those songs, although Sweet Adelines get a lot of new pieces.

We had a chorus do a concert at our church earlier this year, with an emphasis on historical and patriotic songs. Everyone loved it.
