'I'm sorry': Historic moment Tony Blair FINALLY apologises for Iraq War
Daily Mail ^ | 10/24/15 | Simon Walters and Glen Owen and Martin Beckford and Daniel Bates

Tony Blair has finally said sorry for the Iraq War – and admitted he could be partly to blame for the rise of Islamic State.

The extraordinary confession by the former Prime Minister comes after 12 years in which he refused to apologise for the conflict.

Blair makes his dramatic ‘mea culpa’ during a TV interview about the ‘hell’ caused by his and George Bush’s decision to oust Saddam Hussein. (snip)

[Full headline] 'I'm sorry': Historic moment Tony Blair FINALLY apologises for Iraq War and admits in TV interview the conflict caused the rise of ISIS.'

Is there some grand conspiracy to help The Donald? First he talks about the illegals being murderers and rapists and two weeks, or so, later Kate in SF happens. Now after talking about how the Iraq war would destabilize the ME, Blair outs with this.....Trump is going to be all over this and for good reason :)

I think the Iraq war was a good decision.

I think Saddam obviously had wmd.

I think the pullout of troops obviously led to the creation and growth of ISIS.

The anti-American war movement is a serious ongoing threat to our security.

Jeb Bush said months ago that the Iraq war was a mistake. Blair saw the writing on the wall and finally caved.

So now we have Hillary who voted for the war that created Isis.

And we have Trump who predicted everything that’s happening now.

I tend to agree with you. It put us right in the middle of the hornets nest to really shake them out, but the ROE hurt us, the nation building, etc., really hurt us and then zero pulling out and creating a vacuum was the icing on the cake.

Bush signed the agreement setting the pullout date:

Big mistake.

I wonder if Tony would be interested in paying "reparations" to the Islamoterrorists for his evil deed.

Waiting for Bush-43 to apologize. But won’t hold my breath.

Iraq war was the worst fiasco since Vietnam war.

I do believe Saddam had WMD's, if not why then did all sources tell Bush and Blair that he did? Many of the Democrats believed it as well and approved of Bush's actions.

OBAMA IS TO BLAME SOLELY FOR ISSA....when he gave notice of our pulling out of Iraq and the deadline. OBAMA'S SOLELY TO BLAME for what is happening now.

What is needed now is the solution, and Russia so far is providing some of that. Strange turn of events, but elections do have consequences and we are reaping the consequences of electing this Kenyan Muslim President of the United States of America and his religions beliefs.

We knew who he was from the gitgo.....7 years ago. turn to your friend or neighbor and ask them what part they played in bringing ISSA to the forefront, in other words "did you vote for Obama?"

Ooh wikipedia. Wow.

The Bush team did not pull out our forces.

Team Obama agreed to complete absence in its conclusion to the war.

That is incompetent.

Bush fought a competent war against Saddam Loyalists and more importantly our anti-american warriors here at Home.

Not everyone told Bush and Blair that he did. The guy who knew best (Saddam) always denied having wmd. The problem was that we didn't believe him. Other than his crazy kids, probably no one believed him.

The only fiasco about Vietnam was our anti American elite attacking our troops.

They never lost there and we never lost in Iraq.

it has always depended upon Anti American elite creating the conditions where the enemy wins.

Why do people on FR condone that?

"Bush signed the agreement setting the pullout date"

It's amazing how many Obama buttsniffers are here on FR. Bush's agreement was tentative, and it is highly unlikely he would have gone through with it given the conditions at the time of the deadline.

Saddam was bluffing to scare Iran. His entire WMD program was destroyed by the Israelis. There are no nuclear reactors in Iraq. In Iran there are plenty.

WMD’s were just one of 100’s of reasons Saddam needed to be taken out.

Our mistake was not leveling the place from 30,000 feet and moving on to Iran and North Korea.

"Other than his crazy kids, probably no one believed him."

Almost everyone believed him, except you and Richard Clarke, two legends in their own minds.

Well, no, I didn’t believe Saddam, but he did deny having wmd. You may just not remember that.
