Saddam’s military was smaller than Iran. Yet he held off Iran in a 10 year war. Saddam never threatened or had the means to attack United States with his “wmd’s”. There was ZERO imminent and present danger to our homeland. The WMD mirage was Saddam’s ruse to scare Iran from attacking the weaker Iraq.

Results of Bush’s Iraq war:

1. National debt jacked up by $2,000,000,000,000. It was a war Bush-43 started on a credit card. We will pay interest on that debt for ever. Because we have no budget surpluses to pay any part of the principle.

Tens of thousand of brave young American soldiers injured or killed.

2. Iraq is now splintered.

3. Iran controls most of Iraq. The radical Islamist Mullah’s are much stronger with control over Iraq’s oil.

4. Rest of Iraq under control of ISIS, who now control lot of Iraqi oil.

5. Libya is now under control of radical Islamists.

6. Yemen is now under control of radical Islamists.

7. Egypt fell under control of radical Islamists. We got very lucky that the military succeeded in ousting Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.

8. Syria is now a total kerfuffle.

9. The 911 terrorists were Saudi’s, not Iraqi’s.

None of the above 9 disasters could happen if we left the Muslim dictators alone. They were all successfully controlling the radical Islamists.

Bush-43’s Iraq war will go down in history books as the worst foreign policy blunder since Vietnam war.

Trump is absolutely right, we elect very stupid leaders. Bush-43 & Barack Hussein are 2 prime examples.

I agree but also blame Bush for not creating a forward operating base that would have stabilized Iraq and given
the US a foothold in the ME.

And we have Trump who predicted everything that’s happening now.

When did Trump predict this?

No one believed Saddam because he didn’t want to be believed. It would have hurt his image as the strong horse in the region, on the verge of being a nuclear state. That’s why he kept trying to fake out the UN inspectors and act as if he had something to hide. His sham cost him his rule.

You are correct.

This is not helping.

Yes, you're right. I remember that, too. He may have had mixed feelings about denying that he had wmf for the reasons you mention. Obviously, it's hard to know what he was thinking. When someone like that tells as many lies as he had told, the thinking process probably gets very complicated. I can't imagine trying to work for someone like that.

Yes, there were lots of reasons. I supported the war, but I’m not sure whether I ever came to a firm conclusion about wmd. I just don’t remember. When the US gets involved in a dispute with another country, I more or less always take the side of the US.

And how will the UN react to similar infractions when Iran renegs on its agreements with the United States on nuclear weapons.

Remember that the UN passed 17 resolutions against Iraq. Seventeen resolutions!

It is clear that if and when Iran violates its agreements on nuclear weapons, that our leaders will NOT act and may God helps us all.

The Iraq War didn’t have to be a mistake, but Washington sure turned it into one.

Having absolutely no coherent strategy for post-Saddam Iraq really doomed things. Even then, allowing the gains from the Surge to be wasted by pulling out completely was insane.

Iran now has another client state and it lead to the mess we’re in now, with Russia taking control of the Middle East.

“Obama buttsniffers”

LOL. You are the one posting here in defense of Hillary’s war.

Obama and Bush are history. They are both stains in this nation’s history. I couldn’t care less about them.

Yes. Saddam had wmd, was supporting jihadist terrorists including al queda. What destabilized the ME was soetoro’s support of the Muslim Brotherhood run “Arab Spring” islamist revolutions that deposed strong allies, abandonment and surrender of Iraq and Afghanistan, overthrow of Kadaffi and direct funding, arming and support of isis and al queda in Syria.

I believe you're right about Iraq being a major blunder on Bush's part, now that we have the benefit of hindsight. And while the dictators since removed did provide for a stabilizing effect on radicals to some degree, in time we would see what we're seeing today.

One of our biggest threats is still Islam and anyone who thinks it's a religion of peace is ignorant of Mohamed's teachings and Islam's history of evil.

Correct. One of the obvious R and D team up was on Libya.

Not once did any congressman ask Sec. Clinton, why the hell did you support bombing Qaddafi and help to destabilize that country? It was all Benz, but nothing about the current mess. There has been no serious accountability on our foreign policy for years.

ISSA = ISIS?

Otherwise, it sounds like you are berating 0bama for giving us Darrell Issa.

You’ve lost me, at least. That is just too far a difference to make sense.

From what I have read, Trump wrote a book almost two years before the WTC fiasco saying the destabilizing of Iraq would lead to terrorism in the US and a power vacuum that could not be fixed. He had also mentioned Bin Laden as an example of a terrorist that could become a problem.
