That’s the good part. Trump speaks to the little people and he speaks their tongue without talking down to them. The low information voters are being slowly and surely educated by
Trump’s delivery. They understand the broad parameters of what he is saying and are becoming more educated. That is the reason for his cross over attraction. AND , like Reagan, people believe him.

Everything is upside down, because some folks will go to any lengths to avoid letting go of their boyfriend.

On this thread alone, I see claims that CRUZ is a show-off, LOL.

I would take issue with certain statements you’ve made because I feel you have extrapolated intentions of Trump that do not, IMHO, hold water. You have stated:

1. he’s advocating using the full force and power of the federal government to make a company hire back workers they determined weren’t doing their jobs adequately.
Nowhere do I see any allegations that the “workers were not doing their jobs properly.” Common sense would dictate that if someone is not doing his job properly, Disney would certainly not demand that person to TRAIN his own replacement! That would be simply replacing incompetence (at a lesser cost) with more incompetence.

2.HB1s aside, Disney has every right to replace its workers for cause.
FOR CAUSE? Where is for cause shown? I do not see it and if the development is over cost and behind schedule, might not a large part be due to top management errors or incompetence? My experience tells me that top management is to blame. It is extremely rare (including all the defense contracts as well as other bureaucratic bodies) to bring in any contract under budget today. One person who has accomplished it repeatedly has been Donald Trump. It is one of his immense talents. I am certain he understands the issues here .
3. Using the power of government to force a company to adopt his view of their current employer habits; he will prevent them from being allowed to terminate employees.
Trump is merely stating he will use the power of the federal government to ENFORCE the LAWS already on the books and to stop the practice of ignoring and sidestepping the laws as they were written.
Considering the thousands of employees Trump has hired over the years, and the fact that there is no noisy thunder from people he has employed, he must be a pretty good person to work for. That’s good enough for me.

I’d say Ted’s quote contains Apples and Oranges.
“40% of the Fortune 500 companies were founded by immigrants or their children.” The key words to me are OR THEIR CHILDREN. There is no report that these children are aliens, or whether they are FIRST GENERATION AMERICNS. So, to my way of thinking, FORTUNE 500 is not giving all the facts correctly. What percentage of these companies are founded by the parent(s) and what percentage are founded by FIRST GENERATION AMERICANS?
So if we have such and such number of people who start their businesses and hire their American children(most often the case), the whole study is skewed.
Anytime someone throws percentages and blah blah blah at me, I want to know ALL the facts. Statistics can be made to show anything you want. You just have to set it up correctly according to my Economics professor at Cornell University in the ‘50’s.

I’ve never fired a competent resource in my entire career. There are plenty of markets where the IT unemployment is <1%. If these ex-Disney employees deserve a job, they will get one. Period. I can’t find resources fast enough right now. Half of the people I interview claim skills they don’t have.

But - back up: I used the words “deserve a job.” No one “deserves” a job. That’s a liberal way of thinking. If these ex-Disney employees are WORTH a job, they will get one - period. If they are whining about being out of work in a hot IT market, then it is because THEY SUCK. Trust me. If they are any good, they could apply to any of my open positions and would probably get hired in a heartbeat unless they have the liberal expectation that they should all be paid like CTOs.

This is no different than the fast food workers who are basically incompetent but demand $20/hr. We don’t champion them and we shouldn’t start championing IT workers who can’t compete in a market that is current an employee’s market - big time.

I believe he only said that in regard to employers terminating their employees for H1-Bs.

That seems extremely consistent with the H1-B visa intent.

That is not what Trump said. He said termination of employees for H1-Bs is patently wrong (and against the unenforced law).

Fire your own employees for other Americans or permanent residents, but not for H1-Bs.

I despise your posting of so many blank lines. Those of us on smartphones are the most impacted.

the real agenda was to hire cheap foreign workers.

Now this is the meat of the coconut!

You can listen to Ted's rationale here:

"...Economists have found that or every 100 H1B visas issued, 183 jobs are created for American citizens."

Jeesh, these politicians can't even parrot arguments that they've been fed correctly. The fact is, it was a single economist (not plural) who wrote a working paper that was published (and I assume funded) by groups pushing for increased H-1B caps. In any event, the 183 number is bogus. As stated at this link:

The study's results are dependent upon selecting a time span that includes the tech crash of 2000-2002, a time span that included steep losses of both native and foreign workers. However, if the 2000-2010 time span of the study is changed to 2002-2008, a time span with general job gains, the relationship reverses, showing a correlation between foreign job gain and native job LOSS.

You can find an analysis of the 183 number at this link.
