"Stand And Deliver"...outstanding film.
In the olden days you had them wear a cone for a dunce cap and set them in a corner for about 30 minutes. The “shame” of having a dunce cap used to work.
The Oklahoma City Public Schools hired a superintendent from the Pacific NW, near Seattle. One of his first acts was to implement the same basic policy as written up here because the feds were on the district’s case about how imbalanced the numbers were on who was getting put on suspension. A recent survey by the district of their teachers revealed that this is the most hated policy and that it is affecting their ability to control the classroom for those that really want to learn. The teachers are getting little administrative support for discipline because they are all worried about their numbers.
People; take a clue.
It’s called ADA (average daily attendance), if the kids ass ain’t in the chair, the District doesn’t get the MONEY.
Always follow the money, or lack there of.
In other news, Water is Wet!
They refuse to admit the evidence that certain kids disrupt the classroom and should be in a cell. Liberalism is a mental disorder.
The teachers will now be suspended for making such awful microaggressive statements.
Ha. Wear a dunce cap? You’d be up on charges faster than the speed of light, for “making the student feel unCOMfortable”, awwww. Plus, they’d probably find a way to use the dunce cap as a weapon.
1) So?....Schools really are kiddie prisons, as I have been pointing out for years?
2)And.... Then there is the First Amendment conflict between compulsory government kiddie prisons ( oops! “schools”) and the First Amendment Right to free assembly. Who in their right mind would freely assemble with people who rob cell phones? Huh? Yet,....The government** forces** good children with threats of police and court action into assembly with thuggers and thuggettes!
3)Finally...Taxpayers are under police and court threat to pay for this freedom of conscience and First Amendment abomination? ( Misnamed “public” schools)
What struck me was that these teachers are not complaining about the stupidity of the policy, but about the fact that no-one has taught them how to implement said stupid policy.
There you go; just insert money and bureaucrats & the frustration will all go away.
