This video is one in a series of videos and websites which are being posted on FreeRepublic in the coming days in regard to nutritional health. In the beginning these videos were being posted as a rebuttal to an article and comments in another posted article on FreeRepublic remarking on obesity. Due to the strong interest in obesity and nutritional health as it relates to Type II Diabetes, the videos relating to Type II diabetes and how to reverse the progression of the disease are being moved forward among the other video topics in this series. Expect to see a mixture of videos regarding the role of carbohydrates in the diet and their relationship to nutritional health topics ranging from metabolic syndrome and Diabetes to dementia, Parkinson's Disease, Altzheimer's Disease, and more. The effects of standard government sponsored diets, health association diets, and alternative diets upon everyday nutrition, sports nutrition, and diabetic nutrition will be mixed in with videos focused on the use of various low carbohydrate and high fat (LCHF) diets, such as the ketogenic diets as a treatment for Type II Diabetes.

Thank you.
go ahead and put me on your list
I am interested. Please include me in your Ping list. Thanks!
Any diet that includes a bacon weave has to be good.
Thanks. I need to lose a few pounds.
Why not one more ping list. Put me down. Well, on the list anyway.
I retired on April 3rd of this year. Since then, I have steadily lost weight due to lower calorie intake. My stress nibbling has ceased.
My wife cooks healthy meals and we usually eat one main meal and two very reduced snacks a day. Candy intake is way down.
To this point, I have lost between 35 and 40 pounds. My midsection has reduced to the point where bending over to tie my shoes is not only possible, but doesn’t leave me gasping for air.
What I am trying to say is that for me, it isn’t fad dieting, but responsible eating. I am afraid that this Keto Diet may be the Adkins of the early 21st Century.
I believe that the key to weight loss and control is discipline and knowledge of healthy eating. Forget fast foods. Avoid foods from genetically altered sources, and For God’s Sakes, PATIENCE! You put the weight on one pound at a time. It isn’t going to go off any faster.
And finally, get off your dead ass and walk or do other exercise.
End of Rant!
Please add me. Thanks.
I agree with you. In my experience, portion size is key. As people age, they need to cut way down on portions. Think about what was on your dinner plate when you were about 25, then cut that in half. Don’t eat empty calories. Limit alcohol intake to 1 serving/day. If you must have a sweet, eat a little dark chocolate.
Don’t keep anything tempting in the house like cakes, pies, cookies, ice cream, taco chips. The only “snacks” you’ll find in our cupboard are saltines, pretzels, and graham crackers. And usually a few varieties of nuts (but only eat a small handful at a time).
And get moving. If the weather is conducive, get outside in the sunshine. The Vitamin D is beneficial.

Congrats, a year ago I weighed over 200#, yesterday I slipped into my 29W-32L Levi 517s comfortably.
Amazing what limiting calories, proper diet and excercise can accomplish.
See, there is my problem. My wife and I have both been on low carb diets and I walk 3 miles or so every day, but the stuff I do eat, I eat by the wheelbarrow load, almost.Breakfast, typically, 3 pieces of bacon, 2 sausage patties, 4 scrambled eggs, either a sliced tomato, or a serving of quinowa, made like grits.
NOW, I want to go off the low carbs, but I can still eat until all the food is gone. I mean, I would still eat LOW carbs, but my diet for the past 5 years has been as low on carbs as extremely possible.
Bump.
