Which is Fastest to 186 mph? LaFerrari vs. 918 Spyder vs. P1

And so the titans convene. When it became known that Ferrari, Porsche, and McLaren each had hybrid hypercars in the works, the world had one collective question that merited investigation. Which is fastest? For that answer, take a peek below.

YouTube channel TheSUPERCARDRIVER decided to solve that lofty query by running the hypercar trio—Ferrari LaFerrari, Porsche 918 Spyder, and McLaren P1—from naught to 300 kph (186 mph) on the long expanse of the UK’s Bruntingthorpe Aerodrome.

In case each hypercar’s power figures escape you temporarily, here’s a refresher. The LaFerrari combines hybrid drive and a 6.3-liter V12 for 949 horsepower. The 918 Spyder leverages a 4.6-liter V8 and all-wheel-drive to the tune of 887 hp. The McLaren P1 sends 903 hp to the back thanks to its hybrid 3.8-liter V8. Let’s race.

Our Malibu station wagon (early 1980’s) made 0-60 in .... only 18.6 seconds!

Impressive numbers for the three supercars - the prices are way up there, too.
It's not a hybrid, but the new Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat packs 707 HP and MSRP is around 63K.

The super exotics top speed depends on your mechanic and how the car feels that day.

These cars make the Jaguars of the 60’s look reliable.

Car and Driver tested my car, the Audi S6, for 0-60 in 3.7 seconds. It is electronically limited to 155 mph though.

I stopped watching after the first 10 seconds. How can you have an authoritative video and you can’t pronounce Porsche correctly

My Jeep Wrangler Rubicon will outperform any of the cars in that test as long as I get to pick the road...

Those in-line fours are anemic off the starting line, but when they get the revs up they go very fast.

And my M561 Gama Goat will outperform your Rubicon including climbing some of those trees or ripping them out of the ground :)

They were tough, if you could keep the various u-joints and axles intact. Motor daddy used to invent words because, according to him, there is no way in the English language to describe how much he hated that thing. Fun to drive though.

Which is Fastest to 186 mph?

I don't know the answer but it is good to recall a little physics when trying to increase speed.

If 150 Horsepower results in a 100 Miles per Hour vehicle then, with all things remaining equal, it will take 1,200 Horsepower to propel that vehicle to 200 Miles per Hour.

The Brits have never really cared much for other peoples’ languages or how to pronounce foreign words. When I was taking French classes and screwed up I opined to the instructor that her American students were probably the most difficult. She laughed and said we were probably the easiest since we tended to adapt quickly and weren’t embarrassed to make mistakes. The worst were the Brits. They stubbornly refused to admit errors or change their pronunciation so a native speaker could understand what they were trying to say. But back to the subject, at the top end of luxury or speed they do make some really remarkable cars.

If 750 HP propels NUTSCAR to 200 MPH that means that NUTSCAR required 93.75 HP to achieve 100 MPH.
