SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - A sign posted on the door of a western Ohio bakery has gone viral and started an online discussion.
The photo posted to Facebook shows the sign at Schuler's Bakery which reads:
"Notice. This store is politically incorrect. We say Merry Christmas, God Bless America, we salute our flag & give thanks to our troops, police officers and firefighters. If this offends you, you are welcome to leave. In God We Trust."
Schuler's Bakery, Trent A. Schuler (CEO/Owner) Between the original post and one on WHIO's Facebook page, the photo has been shared more than 2,500 times, more than 2,000 comments and more than 10,000 likes.
Most comments support the store for its sign and other call out the
“Also, most of us wish you crazy Xtians would just go away.”
No worries. Someday, we will go away. And you will remain.
Shortly after it sinks in that you will spend eternity apart from GOD, y’all will wish you had a do-over.
Those words aren't there. You are thinking of the Establishment clause.
Mr. Jefferson referred to “a wall of separation” in a letter to a Baptist leader, but it was to protect the churches FROM the state, not the other way around!
You didn’t read my full post, did you?
I live near Akron so that`s a LONG drive for me but maybe I`ll be taking a road trip to buy some pastries.
Store needs to add just one more caption......
“MUSLIM FREE ZONE”
the intellectual level displayed here is somewhere below room temperature....at best.
Just to add to what CCG said - the context of Jefferson’s letter to the Danbury Baptist Church regarding separation of church and state was to allay the fears of clergy regarding the prospect of government overreach into religious life. Perhaps the greatest irony is that Jefferson’s closing of the letter would most likely aggrieve the modern atheist/nihilist as violating the very wall they continuously cite out of context.
Well Amber, when those Christians ‘go away’ they’ll be on a better place than you I’m sure.
There’s nothing really very controversial there.
NOW...if he’d afded “We find faggits disgusting,” or “We think Islam is a death cult” THEN we’d have a show.
But I doubt thus will evoke much outrage.

Man, I wish you could edit posts here. A few bad typos in that one.
