A meeting in a Dutch town to discuss whether to build a new centre for migrants had to be abandoned when some opponents rioted.
Protestors in Geldermalsen tore down fences and threw fireworks at police who responded with warning shots.
European countries are facing record numbers of refugees and other migrants entering Greece illegally from Turkey.
Dutch State Secretary for Security and Justice Klaas Dijkhoff said the protestors had crossed a line.
"Finding shelter for asylum seekers poses difficult questions but there is a limit when it comes to expressing your opinion," he said on Dutch TV.
"The line is crossed when you barge in yelling and rioting. That's not appropriate in a discussion and thankfully, we have seen that it went much quieter in other places and a solution was found. This is not ok."
The migration crisis is expected to dominate a meeting of EU leaders on Thursday......
About 2,000 people joined the protests from the municipality of 27,000, 27km (17 miles) from Utrecht, Dutch national broadcaster NOS reports.
Local police said they made several arrests.....

“That’s not appropriate in a discussion”
The pols think they can “have a discussion” about a decision that they’ve already made. This is the mistake. A discussion would be BEFORE the decision is made, taking the input from the people and THEN deciding.
The way they “discussed this” is the way I “discuss” my order at a restaurant. I’ve already made my mind up, I’m just telling the waiter what I’ve decided to order. That’s not a “discussion”.

The rioting is an outgrowth of the pols making the decision without taking the people’s feelings into account. A true “discussion” would have prevented (or at least, mitigated) that feeling. It might not have prevented the rioting but it would have minimized the chances for it happening.

You’ll see a move back to feudalism, with the sons and grandsons of those making the current decisions in charge of the serfs with mailed fist.
Seems to me that the Euro countries fed up with the invasion should pull their resources and send a heavy construction team to the Greek/Turk border and BUILD A WALL.
In other words, put a cork in the bottleneck!

I think the move to change the demographics is planned by the “betters” in a long-game attempt to revert to feudalism. We all know the muslims will not assimilate and become Dutch. They will remain muslims from their homeland, first and foremost. We all know this eventually leads to violence. Either sooner, if they don’t get their way on everything or later, when they represent a significant minority of the population.
Knowing that, what is government’s response to violence? They can fold, sure. But remember, they’re doing this on purpose. This means they have a plan to handle the violence. I think the plan is for increasing crackdowns on the violence until they have “no choice” but to move back to an autocratic rulership situation. Remember, this is Europe. That’s in their DNA. In short, I think they want to move back to a “Ruling class Lords / everyone else Serfs” situation.
It may be a generation or two down the road but that’s the likeliest outcome

I sense something very nefarious behind this mass migration that’s happening across the globe. It may not be of human origins but something the Apostle Paul said when talking about “we war not against flesh”.
Along the same lines, our own government is importing the same madness yet we have not responded - it is likely we will sleep until it is too late.

Where they had THIS version of discussion (after the decision has been made), they will have muslim centers, riots or both. Where they have the proper type of discussion (before the decision is made) they may have centers and they may not.
They may have riots but there’s a smaller chance for riots than if they continue to “discuss” in the way they’re doing it now.

I’ve been saying something very similar for some time. On the other hand I do not think it is just a European ‘problem’. I’ve been getting he sense that this is truly a worldwide phenomenon where the ‘elites’ decided many decades ago, possibly even back into the 1800’s that there are too many people. That is people not of the ‘right type’. I’ve seen it mentioned many times that the ideal numbers of humans on the planet needs to be around 100 million or so. That’s enough people to be serfs for the ‘elites’ and provide a good living in a technological society, yet not so many that they will harm ‘Gaea’ to adversely.
Agreed. I think they want the rulers and the ruled...as long as they are the rulers. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if something like what you proposed was the long-term plan.
