RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Virginia will no longer recognize concealed handgun permits from more than two dozen states that have less stringent laws.

Attorney General Mark Herring said Tuesday that the state will revoke its reciprocity agreement with 25 states after a review found that their permit requirements are weaker than Virginia’s. The change takes effect Feb. 1.

Before they allowed weapons in the National Forests, the Sheriff in Cochise County told a friend of mine, who hiked the Huachuca Mountains, that he would rather that she dealt with a firearms charge then go to her funeral.

If you think the rats are going to reverse this ruling while they are still in office, then I have a slightly used bridge to sell you in Brooklyn.

These scumbags have knives out, and will do whatever it takes to reverse, damage or otherwise destroy our individual liberties.

Yes, the phrase the bozo atty general used was these states “lacked adequate disqualifiers” for carry permits. FL has disqualifiers at least as strong as VA’s— and so, the atty general is a liar and applying this “ruling” without regard to the 2nd Amendment and equal treatment under the law.

The laws of a state may not be predicated on the laws of another state, as written in every constitution of a state. This is probably laying groundwork for the obamaumao the great
s so called “law” he thinks he can make on his own. It cannot and will not stand. Time for all to take vigilant notice and call to action to shut this down. That and the greasy lying clintoon bagman criminal, Mcaulliffe who thinks hitlery is going to be the next dictator.

Does the law allow for the Attorney General to MAKE that call?

I don’t know, but I suspect that an AG can abrogate an agreement with another state if the agreement allows for it. There may be a statement such as: either party may abrogate given 30 or 60 day notice of doing so. But, concerning concealed carry permit reciprocity, I don’t know if there is a law or just a state government to state government agreement.

Herring won by less than 0.1% of the vote in 2013. What are his prospects for re-election?

Hmm, you have a point. I was working under the assumption that the law which allowed concealed carry in Va was specific enough to state what qualified for reciprocity. But as you pointed out, it may not be so detailed.

Maybe VA driver tests aren’t meeting the stringent standards of these states and should no longer be recognized?

Yeah, but what about the rest of us that have to live under this pile of cow manure that claims to know what’s best for us?

I left the state 2 1/2 years ago and only pay attention because of my grandkids. I also don’t try to guess what the voters will or won’t do. That hurts my head. For example, I still don’t know why 35-45% of voters like or would vote for Hillary Clinton, for anything, even after they know how incompetent she is. So guessing what happens to the VA AG in the next election is beyond my comprehension. Or, how the Clinton money man got elected VA governor is also beyond my comprehension. I’m holding hope that it wasn’t just a criminal act of stealing the election.

An interesting aside, the news is reporting that some states can’t use their driver’s licenses for identification when flying. New Mexico was one of those. Just wondering how long before the liberal government will require a “national” identification, such as the passport card. But, I think that the SCOTUS may have a say on reciprocity of drivers licenses.

My apologies from the Peoples Proletariat of Virginia. McAuliffe and his crony comrades have been an embarrassment to us since the election and now the world is beginning to understand why.

Personally, I’m thinking this is just part of the orchestrated nationwide Obama gun grabber plan. As such, this is just the beginning as they go full Alinsky.

Step 1 - Divide and conquer.

(Gotta post and run. Freep on and Merry Christmas!)

The response of those 25 states should not be to revoke reciprocity with Virginia. It should be to allow VA residents easier access to firearms so they can take them back home. It seems like they are going to need them.

Just like NY. Cept it’s the polar opposite. We lost our voices upstate to the democrat cesspool NYC. There are some good conservatives there, but not enough to counter the dems. Just way too many people in those 5 boroughs that are dumb enough to vote democrat.

Most of the states will still accept the Virginia CCP. Here is how it shakes out today:

“The move also means several states will no longer recognize Virginia’s concealed carry permits because they require mutual recognition of permits.”

“Those include Florida, Louisiana, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Wyoming.”

If you have a Utah CCW, you will be covered for North Dakota, Louisiana and Wyoming. Florida and Pennsylvania will only accept the Utah CCW if you are a resident of Utah.
South Carolina does not recognize the Utah CCW.

If you have the Virgina CCP, but are not a resident of Virginia, you have to check state by state to confirm validity. Maybe someone (NRA?) will get a summary posted.
