There are two things cops are obligated by law to do; investigate crime and preserve order. “Protect and serve”? not so much.

Depending on your timeline, I think Darwin is better at preserving order than the police.

And yes it's hard to explain to my friends and family that the police in America are not supposed to prevent crime or protect you. They are there to respond to reported crimes, to investigate and fill out the official paperwork as officers of the court.

Your personal safety and that of your family and community is your own personal responsibility.

Lots of blurred lines these days.

The "Protect and Serve" logo never indicates who is being protected and served. My guess would be the government, not the citizens.
