Apple sales set to slump in 2016 with no new products, analysts warn

AFTER a year of big Apple releases, analysts are predicting a flat 2016 where the world's biggest tech company refines product lines rather than produces the next big thing.

Apple’s share price has taken a battering in the past six months, with more than $220 billion slashed from the company’s value as analysts look towards an era of smartphone saturation.

Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty recently predicted that 2016 would be first time that iPhone sales would shrink, dropping by up to three per cent.

Given the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus sold 13 million in their opening weekend, a jump from the 10 million sales for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus the previous year, a decline of that scale would be a massive turnaround. However the Morgan Stanley grim forecast was matched by other analysts, including Pacific Crest and KGI Securities.

Jan Dawson, chief analyst at Jack Daw Research, was more positive about the iPhone’s future predicting that Apple would continue to grow sales but was pessimistic about the iPad, with the tablet market for all companies struggling as people fail to see compelling reasons to upgrade from their first tablet.

The problem for the year ahead for Apple was that in 2015 it was on the crest of a wave.

After years of rumours it launched its first wearable product, the Apple Watch, leapfrogging Samsung, Sony and others to become the dominant player.

IDC estimates that Apple will ship 21.3 million smartwatches this year. An analysis of the Apple figures suggests the Apple watch added US$1.7 billion to the coffers in just six months.

Apple and the Internal Combustion Engine?

Make assumptions much? You seem to. Ever hear of FUEL CELLS and generating electricity with them? Hydrogen. The ash from using it is water.

Oh! I forgot, the pregnant iPhone attachment to make up for their poor battery life.

Surprisingly, that design fits the hand far better than one with a flat back mimicking just a thicker iPhone similar to the Mophie system. It made it easier to hold on to. The design was deliberate after multiple trial and error other designs. It also turns out Mophie has a rock solid Design patent on the flat back battery pack system. . . so the design had to differ. The iPhone 6S does not have a "poor battery life," another thing that exists only in your poor excuse for a mind.

My charting show AAPL going down 30% more next year. Those who remain married to it will find out the hard way. Get back to me next year at this time

AAPL will hit 73 next April and stay there. It will be a good hedge against capital gains/ Xiaomi will rise 20% in the new year

Again. I did not say that. I said that Apple has a patent on a DRY system that safely can extract Hydrogen for power. You really have a reading comprehension problem, don't you. That must be the source of your misperceptions about Apple. You read what want to see.

More of your patented lies. Xiaomi has not even gone public for it to rise at all. It is a privately held company. Nice try. Also, there is no "chart" that will show Apple dropping 30%. You are back in your delusional world, Baron, where horses fly and someone can shoot a flintlock around the world.

Considering their patent is for mobile devices, Automobile devices would be quite a stretch.

Why do they need sales ? They just extorted 500m out of Samsung.

$500,000,000 would cover their gross revenues for the year, give or take 364 days and five hours.

On Monday, I'm going to buy a 128GB iPod Touch at the Apple Store in Grand Central Station. I've finally decided to retire my iPod Classic - or rather move it my suitcase where I will take it on trips (and not worry too much about losing it). Reason being is that I need the iPod Touch to use my Apple Music.

This will be my fifth Apple device in the past four years.

Pundits have been “predicting” Apple’s demise since the 1990s. Your comment is silly.

Did you actually READ the article? If not, then how can you post such an inane accusatory reply?
