(Flashback: 2014): New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo: Pro-life people not welcome in New York
Washington Examiner ^ | 1/20/14 | Charlie Spiering

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo believes that pro-life activists, along with anti-gay activists and supporters of the Second Amendment, are not welcome in his state.

During a radio interview on Friday, Cuomo pointed out that Republicans were in the midst of a schism, where conservatives worked against moderate Republicans.

"Their problem is not me and the Democrats; their problem is themselves," he said. "Who are they? Are they these extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay? Is that who they are? Because if that's who they are and they're the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York, because that's not who New Yorkers are."

You know what, why are these frickers always using term “extremist” when it comes to their political opponents when THEY are the extreme? I mean, their views are pretty damn anti-traditional if they want to tear down people who are pro-innocent life, For the 2nd amendment of the constitution, and pro-family. No? Hell, they are trying to demonize people not for “making laws” that stifle anyone, but just for their thoughts and beliefs instead. For instance, abortion is still legal, most adults are live and let live when it comes to gay people being gay and doing their thing (there are no more sodomy laws on the books and if there is like in Mississippi or something, it’s not enforced anyways.) And none of us go out and promote assault weapons, merely the right to people of sound mind to bear arms.

Stop the snarky stuff about New Yorkers.

What is "snarky" about pointing out the words that reflect the values that win elections?

Please read my comments - what I actually say. I am not interested in what you read into them, though.

I reread it and I agree with me that it is snarky and ignorant.

It’s all that is south of the Rockland County - Orange County line and Westchester County - Putnam County line that spoils the state. Culturally there are two different states divided by that line. I have seen though the NYC Metro types bringing their poison north across the divide.

Wasn’t Cruz’s comment that Trump should have as his campaign theme song “New York, New York”? That IS NYC.

Every state has its Sodom and Gomorrah, and the outlying populations end up taking guff for it, partly because they have no way to out-vote the idiots. I wish it wasn’t so.

I am told by family in South Carolina of a similar dividing line in South Carolina. Upstate is conservative. Colunbia - Charleston corridor produces the squish Graham.

Well mm, if you don't like the "values" of New York being displayed, you are welcome to leave.
Don't like it, change it then instead of whining about it being pointed out!

>> So you’re position then, as a conservative, is that Andrew Cuomo defines NY values?

Yes, but not only GOVERNOR Cuomo... I look at the bucket after bucket of steaming dog squat that New Yawkers elect to office and draw my own conclusion that New Yawk values are NOT my values.

The leadership embodies the values of those they lead.
And NY is chockablock full of corrupt leadership.
Dean Skelos, Sheldon Silver ring any bells?
Yeah, they did eventually get caught.
Point is, if there were any deal values here they wouldn’t have been elected in the first place.
New York did invent slime politics.
Read up on Tammany Hall.
