Benghazi 13 Hours Review
n/a

Posted on 01/16/2016 7:19:01 PM PST by ConservativeMan55

Just got out of Benghazi 13 hours.

Wow what a movie!

It was evident from the start this was an accurate portrayal.

The actual participants in Benghazi helped Director Michael Bay plot out the movie.

At times the characters/heroes were a bit hard to follow as one bearded dude looked just like the next.

But the overall story, plot and accounts were told perfectly.

From the beginning of the movie until the end you can see how higher ups were stifling the contractors and CIA Agents.

They also did a good job showing that each man had a family to come home to they loved very much.

Also during different times over the 13 hours multiple calls for help were made. Planes were shown sitting at the ready.

At one point those at the Annex are just asking for a simple flyover and they are told no.

These men and women were left to die while interrupting Obama and Hillary's scheming. (Gun running)

In the end as they're about to head home one of the survivors makes an interesting comment, almost an aside, but important nonetheless.

"Something's not right. How did those guys know our exact position? Something doesn't smell right."

Indeed.

What we know is Obama and Hillary were running guns/weapons in Benghazi to groups like Ansar al Sharia who is named in the movie as responsible for the attack.

What do you think? Did the deal go bad? Somebody didn't bring enough money and the Arabs felt screwed?

The movie didn't address it but hours before the consulate was attacked Chris Stephens was meeting with the Turkish ambassador.

Why??

Also what of the reports early on of militants at the compound being heard saying "Don't shoot! Morsi sent us!" There was a FR thread about this at one time.

The whole situation raises more questions than it does answers.

Why did Obama and Hillary pull security from the embassy weeks before the attack?

Was the attack a payment of some sort from Obama to the terrorist group?

What do you think??

At one point in the movie one of the heroes says "Am I the only one that feels like everybody knows what's going on here but us?"

To me it looks as if the CIA Contractors got in the way of Obama's plot.

Had the CIA Station Chief held them off an extra 30 minutes Stephens may have lived to tell the tale.

Was that CIA Station chief in on it? Why did he receive an award for essentially doing nothing??

Anyhow would love your thoughts!

Great movie!!

Beirut was FUBAR, I was there in the spring of 83. Disgraceful. But not the same as not responding to a besieged Alamo begging for help that was nearby but not sent, due to Obama HIDING LIKE A COWARD all night, in order not to be put on the spot to either grant or deny CBA.

Never mind “stand down,” that is not the point.
No CBA = No timely outside rescue = Americans die (so Obama can get reelected without risking a “Black Hawk Down” that he ordered. IOW, he “wrote off” the Americans, and planned the video lie to cover it up.

Again, I understand. Look at all the upset at Obama over the Iranians catching our two small Boats who were inside Iran’s Waters.

If a Bombing like Beirut happened under a Democrat President, we would all be going ballistic.

Not trying to be contrary.

Well, in the movie, they just showed the made-up Hollywood Predator film. Nice “sky view” of the movie.

Will we ever see the real deal? Probably not. But if enough folks see the Hollywood version, it won’t matter.

I am pissed that it is ranked #4 in box office receipts this weekend so far. I wanted it to be another American Sniper and poke the eyes of the liberals but it doesn’t appear conservatives are into the movie as much as American Sniper. It is a shame. However the weekend is not done.........it would be a miracle to get to number one though.

I went to be supportive but jeez it stunk.
All the good guys crying and the Libyans have to rescue them? Blech!

Accept for the acting, you really can’t criticize something that is a true story. Did they cry? Yes. Were they rescued by the Libyans? Yes.. How can you criticize that?

Wait for word of mouth to build. American Sniper had the twin advantages of Clint Eastwood and Bradley Cooper going in to the opening. People are a little skeptical that Michael Bay can produce a serious film. Word of mouth is going to overcome that and quickly,in my opinion.

Oh I hope so. American Sniper surprised me. Before the movie came out, there was very little marketing....but after that first weekend....holy cow. I don’t remember when I saw it but it might have been the second weekend in the theater.

I hope the word of mouth is as good as you predict. True Michael Bay is getting some grumbling because of distrust. And John Krasinki is not Bradley Cooper. In fact, at first I thought I wouldn’t even see this film because the last movie I saw John in was Aloha and it was HORRIBLE....of course Bradley was in that dreg of a movie too.

Also, in all fairness, it’s not the same thing. The Marines in Beirut weren’t betrayed by their country. The bomb in Beirut exploded. End of story. The Americans in Benghazi requested help from their countrymen while they were fighting for their lives and were told to suck it up.

I’m not disagreeing.

Reagan is still the greatest President in my Lifetime.

My Apolitical B-I-L knew him after he left Office. He told me he was a wonderful Man in real life, everything we would have expected him to be.

Amen! What a terrific experience. Most who know me would be surprised, I wept openly at the conclusion! This is what movie’ making should be about-well drawn characters, great dialogue and what a powerful plot!
