The 'Anti-Establishment' Candidate Boasts About His History of Bribing Politicians
National Review ^ | 1/25/2016 | Andrew McCarthy

Posted on 01/25/2016 3:23:39 PM PST by conservativejoy

I'm not sure what is worse: Donald Trump bragging about paying off politicians, or the cheering by Republican-debate audiences when Donald Trump brags about paying off politicians.

See, when I worked for the Justice Department, we didn't just indict the slimy pols - from both parties - on the receiving end. We also indicted the deep-pocketed cronies who greased their palms, expecting top-shelf service in return.

Even if you're not the queasy type, how nauseating to watch a crowd of people, many of whom would tell you they're strong law-and-order conservatives, giddily applauding as a guy confesses that he's the corrupter who makes the corruption work

. "I was a businessman," Trump smarmed at a debate earlier this year. He was being pressed about the piles of dough he has deposited in Democratic coffers through the years - for his pals the Clintons (including the Clinton Ca-ching Foundation), Schumer, Reid, Pelosi, Cuomo, Rahm, and the rest of the gang. "I give to everybody. When they call, I give."

Yup, although more to the progressives, to implement the very policies he now complains are destroying the country. And why? Trump's allocution continued: "You know what? When I need something from them, two years later, three years later, I call them, and they are there for me... And that's a broken system."

Well, yeah, when you spend years breaking something, it tends to get broken.

So when Soros buys off politicians is it ok then? Or is it only ok when Trump does it?

And how about when Soros buys off Trump??

How about the money Cruz got from Trump, when he was a Canadian just some months ago?

Cruz’s mother had told him she had never sought citizenship for him.

Cruz’s mother had told him she had never sought citizenship for him.

So he’s as good as said he has no Consular Report of Birth Abroad- which is required to establish US citizenship for children born outside of the US to a or 2 US citizen parents (who must have US citizenship).

So you either just let something slip that you shouldn’t have or as usual, you get off on poking your finger in America’s eye. Again & again & again.

So are you saying that all those border jumpers- muzzies, Mexicans, Guatemalans, or whoever, from the south need to do to become US citizens is vote in a US election & they’re all set?

That’s very interesting, conservativejoy.
Really very very interesting.

Do you have a link to these revelations? Or are you just trolling?

Find one multi-billion dollar company that doesn’t bribe Dems and Repubs?

They are outraged he gives to Dems, but has no problem with Dems Goldman Sachs/Citi, Club for Growth donating to Cruz and owning him like Trump owned Dems.

His self funding is a huge issue.

Pray America wakes

Currently the border jumpers can’t legally vote in a U.S. election. However, if Trump gets his way with his Touch Back Amnesty plan, we may soon have Millions of new Democrat voters.

Trump isn’t really self funding. His financial reports show that he is reimbursing his expenditures from campaign donations. Plus he has paid his own aviation company $800,000 from those donations.

What part of "not holding elective office" do you not understand?

Really! So he takes it out of his right pocket and puts it in his left pocket. It is an accounting method his lawyers told him to do to avoid the FEC.

What could Bush have done with $100 million rather than wasting it on this election?

Sure they can, based on what you said.

Cruz was born in Canada. His mother made no attempt to establish US citizenship.
Canada did not allow dual citizenship until 1977.
But Cruz didn’t even need to renounce his CANADIAN CITIZENSHIP because when he voted, that took care of his Canadian citizenship.

THAT JUST MEANS HE VOTED ILLEGALLY.

geeeez Who are the barking moonbats now?

I understand it perfectly.

You claiming Trump’s lack of “bad” votes has any meaning is the same as me claiming he has not fulfilled any campaign promises.

Both are due to his never held office. Both are equally meaningless. Obserdity to expose obserdity.

Whatever. I’m sure people can recite the Bible. Doesn’t make them best qualified to lead. Poor Ted couldn’t get. More than one guy to follow him in the senate.

>> There really does have to be a Quid pro quo for it to be a bribe <<

I believe the matter might not be altogether so clear as you suggest.

If I recall correctly, the prosecution never presented direct evidence of a quid pro quo when Virginia Governor McDonnell was recently convicted of corruption in federal court.

On the other hand, this case is currently on appeal to the SCOTUS, meaning that McDonnell might eventually be exonerated. In the meantime, the bottom line (as a former VPOTUS would remind us) is this:

"There's no controlling legal authority."

LOL.

So one of these politicians is going to take one for the team and try to get the FBI to believe Trump is the only one they shook down in return for not having the government coming after them ?

I'm glad someone is honest enough to tell it like it is instead of pretending, like some self-rightous frauds on both sides of such deals, that the donor doesn't get anything in return for the donation.

They call, he donates, that's the game. If that's a bribe then don't send any money in response to the avalanche of begging emails from Cruz pretending he doesn't do anything more for those who donate millions than he does for those who donate a hundred.

No you are acknowledging that it is in fact All His money. Has Trump ever said everything is God’s? I’m seeing a Nebuchadnezzar event coming as he stands out on the Truman Balcony declaring he owns the nation and built it.

Frankly I don`t give two cr@ps and a stroke who he bribes, just the fact that he bribes. But at the heart of the whole ‘angry electorate’ question is, or certainly should be, whether he will sell out as well? After all, isn`t that WHY they`re so angry?

You mean like Cruz or Bush are bought off and will sell out?

Answer a question with a question? The subject here is Trump`s bribery admissions, answer the question or forget about a response?
