Reading some threads, I see Cruz folks starting to sound like they're starting to buy the Trump Big Lie that Trump "won" the debate, and knocked Cruz out. Don't believe it for a second.
I can't be specific what I'm referring to. We'll just have to say it's interesting data from "a friend."
What I am seeing is national, not relating to Iowa specifically. And it's not a cross-section of Republicans, but it probably is a pretty good barometer of conservatives.
Based on what I'm seeing, Rubio is going absolutely, positively nowhere, and Trump is going downhill. Pretty big. Maybe not the final implosion, but MUCH bigger than just the day-to-day noise.
Combine this with the fact that we're not seeing any surge in voting registration in Iowa*, indicating that (sadly) Trump is NOT motivating huge new blocks of voters, and I don't know how he can win... unless Cruz people get disheartened by the nonsense being pumped out by Politico, CNN, and all the other left-wing Trump lovers.
(*Again, this is not a tell-all. Last-minute registrations and simply activating existing registered voters could be plenty to bring about astounding voter turnout. But it is a dog that's not barking. New registrations have in the past correlated with surges in caucus participation.)
I also have friends who lean libertarian. They are also supportive of Trump even though they fear he will bring back protectionism.
If people vote with their minds they might choose Cruz. But if they vote with their hearts, they may go all in for Trump.
This is my take of what is going on in California. It's just anecdotal, but it is shocking to me how people are now willing to discuss their support for Trump openly despite all the horrible stuff said/implied by he MSM and Trump's own controversial statements.
Word is, Trump will drop out before Monday.

I have a friend where I live that knows a lady in Iowa who is married to her neighbors best fried who was a ringboy at their brothers wedding that was also in Iowa who told me that....................................... LOL

You talk about idiocy. The lack of protectionism is why there are 94 million Americans without a job, and why, when you purchase anything, it probably will not be made in the United States.

The best kind of friend in situations like this one is an imaginary friend. You have a lot more rumor options that way.
I just found it interesting that devout libertarians would even consider Trump.
Trump has some sort of Mojo thing going that trumps political and economic beliefs.
If he does get elected, I hope he uses this Mojo against the banksters and Uniparty to prevent them from turning him into another same-old, same-old retread of Clinton, Bush, and Obama with regard to the economy and trade.
