Donald Trump cruises to victory in New Hampshire
Washington Times ^ | Tuesday, February 9, 2016 | Seth McLaughlin - The Washington Times -

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Donald Trump was projected as the winner of the New Hampshire Republican presidential primary Tuesday, easily outdistancing his rivals, claiming his first victory and firmly establishing himself as the candidate to beat.

The billionaire businessman ran away with the contest, winning across all demographics, including committed Republicans and independents, conservatives and moderates, and regular voters as well as first-timers.

He doubled the tally of the second-place finisher, Ohio Gov. John Kasich. Behind Mr. Kasich were Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida.

Mr. Trump, meanwhile, showed he could draw from registered Republicans and independents, and from regular voters and first-time voters.

As the race turns southward and westward, Mr. Trump is well-positioned to capitalize, leading in polling in many of the next big states to vote. At his victory party, he predicted that New Hampshire was just the beginning of his run of victories.

“It’s going to be for many weeks, OK?” he said, thanking New Hampshire voters for sending him out on top. “You started it. Remember. You started it.”

Trump won every demographic including conservatives but Cruz was the real winner because Cruz supporters say so based on how smart they all are and how smart their candidate is.

And notice, the headline does say CRUISE TO VICTORY!

My guy, Cruz came in third and the Donald came in first and I'm OK with both. As much as I want Cruz for policy reasons, it appears that America is going to elect Trump. If that happens, I am confident there is going to be an important role for Cruz in the Trump administration.

This is not a surrender, I am donating to Cruz again today, but it is a realistic look at the world as it is, not as I wish it were.

Perhaps if Trump wins Cruz would make a great VP. He obviously can get many votes on his own and only Trump and Ted are saying what needs to be said on illegals. He’s also very young. Cruz did well last night.

How in the hell did Kasich come in second? What a dud. I agree with you on Trump/Cruz ticket. I think that team would sail into the White House.

I would love to see that,

but the row between them has been very damaging, Trump has been pretty brutal on Cruz, I just don’t believe Trump has him in mind as I don’t think he would do that to his eventual running mate. I have a feeling his choice could be a complete surprise, and I desperately hope it isn’t Rubio who he hasn’t really gone after.

Could be Rubio, or Kasich but should be Cruz.

Carson, Fiorina and Christie will probably get out in the coming days. I don’t think any of them have anything going on in SC or NV.

Great post! Trump's my guy but I respect and admire Ted Cruz and if he's the nominee he's got my full support, but I think this is Trump's year and he's my first choice.

I too hope they can come together in some capacity after the primaries are over.

How in the hell did Kasich come in second?

He's spent nearly all of his time money and energy in NH for months. He didn't even contest IA at all. This was his big shot a win might have mattered but he's a dud in the South and he has no path forward from here.

BTW...according to exit polling he picked up a sizable number of democrat voters who hate Hillary. Just like he wanted.

The good news is, it's my money, I can afford it, and in the old days {80s-90s} I was a degenerate gambler that put $5-10K on a football game. So today, a few bucks on my candidate of choice is no big deal, and it's better than giving it to your mama for crack. Mind your own business and keep her off the street.

BTW. Is that your hand scooping my money outta the shitter?
