The Devil and the Liberal
Once upon a time a man was walking along a road with the Devil. As they walked, another man entered the road at a distance ahead of them. After awhile, the man in front stopped, bent down and picked something up and examined it. Then he placed the object into his pocket and kept walking.
At this, the Devil laughed and said, "oh excellent, very good, wonderful!"
The man walking with the Devil asked him, "Why are you so happy? What did that man find on the road?"
The Devil replied, "That man found a piece of the truth."
The man then asked, "Why would you be happy about that? You're the Devil, you hate the truth!"
"Yes," replied the Devil. "But that man is a liberal, and I'm going to help him organize it."
I don’t get it. What you have seems
to be a bastardized version of this...

– What did he find? – asked one of the friends.
– A piece of Truth – answered the devil.
The friends were very concerned. After all, a piece of Truth might save that man’s soul – one less in Hell. But the devil remained unmoved, gazing at the view.
– Aren’t you worried? – said one of his companions.
– He found a piece of Truth!
– I’m not worried – answered the devil.
– Do you know what he’ll do with the piece?
As usual, he’ll create a new religion. And he’ll succeed in distancing even more people from the whole Truth.

Well, a liberal is just a trooper in one division of Hell;s army. Another division is Islam. Still another, perhap, are the apathetic and uncaring.

Um, correcting a joke to make it correspond with the particularities of your personal religious beliefs, for one.
Actually, don't try to lighten up, you might strain something - just take a pill. You need pharmaceutical help.
