Nightmare scenario for Democrats
me | 2/10/16 | me

Hillary has really screwed herself in this election, especially with young and women voters. Bernie has all the momentum now, and will likely continue to. That being said, Hillary will garner some support and supposedly she has tons of super-delegates locked away. What if, at the Democratic National Convention, Sanders has been able to build an overwhelming coalition of all of the traditional liberal special interest groups, but Hillary...with her super-delegates... is able to snatch away the nomination? Will there be an all out civil war on the left, or would they accept it and coalesce behind Her Thighness? Thoughts?

I can’t believe people here are still discussing Hillary.

She is not going to be the nominee. She will never be President.

We need strategies for Biden, Warren, Deval Patrick, and Castro. We even need a strategy for Jerry Brown.

But Hillary? Forget her. If she doesn’t cop a plea (including retirement to private life), she’s going down.

Why do you think Jebby is still hanging in there despite all the humiliation?

The Superdelegates are the best evidence as to why the Democratic Party is Orwellian named.

If the Wicked Witch wins the nomination via the Superdelegate, Angry Santa's supporters should refuse to vote for her. Even better would be for Angry Santa to start an independent or third party campaign, but that would be unlikely.

The wave of Republican wins will continue unabated. Even though Republicans are stupid, the viciousness of liberals results in groups eating one another. I say Bernie goes third party and decimates the Democratic state and local orgs. for years to come.

The Dems will learn nothing and simply swing farther right. The question is, what will we do with the power?

I can’t believe we’re running an ‘an avowed Socialist and a Socialist who won’t admit it’ and a Cuban guy born in Canada whose father fought along side Fidel Castro!
This is surreal.
What has happened to America??

Hillary won’t make it to the convention. There was another FBI leak yesterday or today which was directed at her aides Kennedy, Sullivan, Mill and Abedin.

They’re the low hanging fruit that will get squeezed first. Lately the leaks have refuted Hillary’s excuses as she’s changed her defense.

The back and forth exchanges between individuals and agencies is building.

I think you’re right. Hillary won’t let this one get away from her. She’ll do something.

If you’re correct, it’s bad news.
I see her as the softest target in Nov.

If the Dems swap in Warren or SlowJoe, they probably have a stronger ticket.

What’s knocking off one old fart compared to losing four of your staff and then lying to entire world about it, including to the faces of the kin of those lost and the Gen’l Assembly of the UN? Compared to sacrificing whole countries? Including plenty of acts working against her own? How many times have the Clintons gotten away with killing off their enemies in the past? To me it seems very plausible.

bernie’s 74 years old, crazier than an outhouse rat. if they steal the nomination from him despite popular support, he will go 3rd party.

That's what happened in 2008, but the super-delegates broke for Obama. There was no Democrat civil war then, but then the young vote was on Obama's side.

This is an extremely interesting situation that is happening with the Democrats. Most of us have been so focused on Donald Trump and the Republican race that we don't realize just how much this Bernie Sanders has captured the hearts and minds of young impressionable people in this country.

Yes, he's an avowed socialist and yes, he actually wants to tax some of us at 90% to realize his socialist dreams of welfare for all at the expense of the so-called "one percent." And many young people are loving the message and embracing this class warfare.

As in 2008, we have power-hungry "my turn dammit" Shrillary Clinton, who feels it is her right and privilege to become president and thus feels she should be coronated as the nominee and propelled to easy victory against some weak Republican. She feels she is owed because she endured years of husband Bill cavorting with various floozies and bimbos. She also feels entitled to her place in history as the "first woman president."

But something funny keeps happening on her way to the cornonation. In 2008, some community organizer from Chicago came out of nowhere and denied her her chance. She spent eight years simmering on the sidelines, getting older and nastier, and now in 2016, she realizes this is her last hurrah. Now some old Jewish socialist from Vermont has come out of nowhere and once again history looks to repeat itself as he starts getting all the buzz and headlines.

As this is her last chance, she is not going to go down without a fight. She is going to use every trick in the book to steal that nomination for herself. If she succeeds, there is going to be literally a civil war at the Democratic national convention this year.

No Democrat wins a presidential election without dominating the under 30 voters. Right now, those under 30 are supporting Bernie Sanders by an incredible 85-15 margin. It is going to get very interesting and potentially very ugly.

She’s hated.

And I Agree, — the rats are just leading us along, will spring someone entirely new on us, later this year.

Are we ready for that?

She has tons of super delegates and a huge establishment machine behind her.
Either Sanders takes off like a rocket everywhere or it is over.

Nightmare because Hillary can beat Trump but not Sanders? It may be a nightmare for America if Trump can’t beat Sanders.
