Hey, I may have had a few too many Hula Pies but I’m not in whale category yet.
Do we get Q points for the ‘500? Three of my drivers are in the top 4.
No
we’ve been to one race at Watkins Glen, and two at Las Vegas...at Las vegas, people were wearing these headphones of some type....what are they, and do you have to rent them or buy them...thx in advance/
Back a few years ago you could rent those head phones and have your favorite drivers frequency so you can be a little birdie and listen in
Most likely the headphones were connected to a scanner the person was wearing; if you know the radio frequency you can listen in on the pit crew conversations, communications between the crew and driver, etc. You might be able to rent at the track, but most people own their own I think (about $150 or so for the whole shebang).
I’ve also seen am/fm radios that are headphones so a slight chance they’re listening to the MRN radio broadcast. Because you sure can’t hear the raceway announcer when cars are flying by at 100 mph! :D
Hey All
I’m having connection troubles so I’ll be in and out.
Jayski has Scanner Info.
Hey Boss
This evenings 2nd race was dull; single file doldrums until drivers started running out of gas. The first race showed only one driver that wanted to win...I present to y'all the winner...
A rain free race forecast for Sunday:
Watched the duels. Earnhardt was impressive. Kendrick & JGR seem to have the power. Shame on the CC for Casey Mears running out of gas. Really CC?? Both duels seemed kinda boring except for the action on the final lap of the 2nd race. Electronic dash gages will take some time to get used to. Gordon in the booth was fine...fresh perspective and outside the box of Waltrips usual critique.
What a finish!
