A vote for Ted Cruz is a wasted vote
Vanity

Posted on 02/20/2016 3:37:45 AM PST by JLAGRAYFOX

A vote cast for Ted Cruz in the South Carolina POTUS Primary is a wasted vote because Ted Cruz will never be elected POTUS under any circumstances. Here are ten compelling reasons why South Carolina voters should shun Ted Cruz and defeat him with a massive loss:

- Ben Carson clearly states that Ted Cruz is a lie teller.

- Marco Rubio clearly states that Ted Cruz is a lie teller.

- Donald J. Trump clearly states the Td Cruz is a serial lie teller.

- Glenn Beck, an unbalanced religious nutcase has endorsed Ted Cruz.

- Ted Cruz will get few African-American votes

- Ted Cruz will get few Hispanic votes.

- Ted Cruz will get few industrial Labot Union member votes.

- Ted Cruz is the weakest "crossover" vote getter in the GOP.

- Ted Cruz will get few minority votes.

- Ted Cruz has not gotten one endorsement from all of his peers the Senate.

I could go on and on commenting on the Cruz or Surrogate negative ads, but if you do not now get the point...you are lost at sea. In addition, Ted Cruz is cold hearted and will do anything legal or illegal to get his way!!! And....Remember, voting for Ted Cruz destroys the future of our great American Republic, because Ted Cruz will lose to any Democrat he faces!!! The choice is yours....voters of South Carolina!!!

Except in a head to head, Cruz kicks trumps ass by 16points. Pretty sure Rubio does too but not as big a margin. Whatsamatter trumpeter, scared?

Side note, I’m sure your ridiculous vanity managed to convince exactly zero people. So you got that going for you! Yay, you!

I like Ted Cruz but I'm coming to the realization that he is just too divisive and ill-tempered to be president. He has a nasty edge to him that turns me off and some of his supporters here on this forum have really given me pause. I'll still support him in the general if he gets nominated but even that seems a long shot at this point as it appears that Trump is well on his way to clinching this quickly.

If he does make it to the general election, I don't think he will do well. Maybe I am wrong but I just don't see Ted Cruz appealing to the moderates and Independents that he will need if we are going to beat Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden or Shrillary. I do understand his appeal among us hard core conservatives but there just aren't enough of us to carry a general election. It's a hard fact to come to terms with but I'm a realist. Ted Cruz as nominee will send many people over to the Democrats, a third party or they might just sit out.

I firmly believe that Donald Trump is our best choice. He has broad appeal and should the Democrats make the mistake of nominated Bernie or Shrillary, I think he will beat them very soundly (he might have trouble against a Joe Biden however).

Trump is not a perfect conservative on paper but he is definitely running a more conservative platform than any other GOP candidate save Cruz himself. I'm also impressed with Trump's broad life experience that he brings to the table and his private sector business expertise. I think Trump will serve as a "CEO" type president and will hire the best and brightest to work in his administration - not political hacks and relatives of donors, etc.

I also think Trump has a much better temperament than Cruz. Trump is pleasant, easy to get along with, and I can see him making some good deals for America with regard to trade and getting things done domestically. Unlike Cruz, I think Trump has the ability to rally Congress (using the presidency as a bully pulpit) to get his agenda passed in a constitutional manner.

I'll support Cruz should he somehow overcome Donald Trump and win the nomination but I feel that our best bet to win the general and actually change the direction of this nation is with Donald Trump.

Ted Cruz is only 44 years old. He's got a bright future regardless of what happens here. I do hope that Cruz takes some of that nasty edge off him and learn that you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. Some of Cruz's followers should take the same advice.

Innuendo. This stuff makes me sick.

Yes, Ben Carson said Cruz lied. But Cruz’s people simply repeated what a CNN report said, based on what Carson’s own staffer told them. And the claim that was made - that Carson would not be campaigning in NH or SC - was true.

Yes, Marco Rubio said Cruz lied - about him saying opposite things about executive amnesty when speaking in English than when speaking in Spanish. But the ads themselves prove who is the liar. Rubio desperately tried to say that Cruz couldn’t know what he’d said in Spanish because Cruz doesn’t speak Spanish (as if that matters), so Cruz proved him wrong by speaking Spanish. And the head of the border patrol’s union has described Rubio’s “Gang of Eight” actions in a way that very much supports what Cruz has been saying about Rubio.

Yes, Trump has said that Cruz lied, and in one case he has a point, if Cruz’s ad said that Trump actually did bulldoze a woman’s house. If the ad said he TRIED to use eminent domain to bulldoze a woman’s house then he did not lie. He said Cruz lied about Trump’s views on Obamacare but based on the things Trump has said publicly (”The government will pay for it” and that he likes the Obamacare mandate, for instance) Cruz’s conclusions were justifiable absent further explanation from Trump, which still hasn’t been forthcoming. Instead of clarifying he simply called Cruz a liar, unless I’m overlooking something (which is very possible).

His fellow Senators won’t endorse him because he did in DC what he said he would do - confront the pigsty and the lies. In addition, these are the people who know they need to work with whoever becomes POTUS so they may be hesitant to get Trump mad at them. I wonder why they’d be afraid of that? It’s not like Trump bulldozes whoever he sees as opposition or something... Trump says Cruz is ineffective because he doesn’t know how to “deal”. Isn’t schmoozing and “dealing” the very thing that has gotten us into this mess? And how can Trump say he’s going to straighten out DC if his plan is to schmooze and deal just as DC has always done? The one who will be hated is the one who confronts that system, and the ONLY person who has done that is Ted Cruz - who is predictably hated for it.

Regarding who will get the minority votes, we don’t know what would be done to either Trump or Cruz if they finally get the nomination and the media comes out in full force against them. That was the strongest reason you gave for not voting for Cruz and it is a question mark.

Ok as Ive read your other replies on this thread I have a question:

Please tell me you have somebody that accompanies you whenever you go outside your house? You’re certifiable, there’s no way you can be trusted alone out in society.

"Now you are insulting Trump supporters with the tired old line that Trump is a liberal." - Lakeshark

Objecting to your candidate's track record and words is a personal insult to you? Sorry, but that's a leftist "PC" standard - you're going to find yourself "insulted" a lot in life.

"Liberal", or progressive, is a generalization which covers Trump's past policy positions, i.e. earlier than 2013, which is the date some news reports mark as the day Trump told confidants that he intended to run for President.

My main point has been, and continues to be, that no matter how you feel about your candidate, YOU ARE NEVER JUSTIFIED in attacking other conservative FReepers. It doesn't even matter if you were "attacked" first, and I use those quotes because you imply disagreeing with your candidate means attacking his supporters.

At this point, I'm anti-Trump, mainly - and I mean this honestly - due to the vitriol of the Trump supporters on this forum. I've written long winded posts explaining my transformation from "open to Trump" to my position now, but regardless, I haven't committed to a candidate and haven't said I'm not voting in November.

I'll probably have "concerns" and "questions" about any candidate I'll eventually support. However, I'll have a difficult time supporting a potty mouthed bully, who attacks every GOP conservative candidate with charges like "liar", "low energy", "nasty", "bubble boy", and so forth.

I'll (waste) my vote on Cruz when I vote in Connecticut, I always vote for the candidate which I believe to be the best in the primaries.

At some point will the Trump supporters around here figure out that you will NEVER win any votes for him with your constant bashing of Ted Cruz? Quite the opposite! Trump’s supporters have been the worst advertisements for his campaign.

If they haven't figured it out yet, I doubt they will. I'm not supporting Trump in the primary, and the real question is whether I can support him on the general. And in all honestly - with a few exceptions - the somewhat mindless, nasty comments from his supporters emphasize my concerns about Trump himself.

See, you Cruzers (be honest) can't help yourselves. You're insulting our intelligence by claiming only Trump has a past that is a bit shaky. Only Trump can be savaged for past pronouncements.

And now I'm just so incapable of looking at his past, that means I'm some kind of weakling.

Got it.

There IS a conservative case for Trump. I was a Cruz supporter until about a month ago, and as much as Trump persuaded me, the Cruzers (as opposed to Cruz supporters) and their vitriol helped nudge me over the line. Way over the line.

I'm happy to vote for Cruz if he wins, we're close to a tipping point on this election, and to go scorched earth on Trump as you (and the Cruzers) are doing is not going to help. It is likely he will be the presumptive nominee in less than two weeks, so I'd suggest you back off the scorched earth tactics.

How about this then mr ridiculous trumpeter. You say yes Cruz is a liar and castigate him for it. Please provide a link to the thread with your comment in it where you castigate and trash Donald trump for his offensive lie that Carson was “like a child molester”

If you can, I and the rest of us might listen to your drivel. If you cannot you’re just another hypocritical hack and you can STFU.

So balls in your court big boy. What kind of man are you?

Oh.and ignoring my last comment is tacit acceptance of you’re being another hypocritical hack...so don’t bother trying that usual trumpeter approach either. Same thing with just attacking me.

It’s quite simple...put up or shut up
