Chicago Tribune archival photo of a young man being arrested in 1963 at a South Side protest is Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders, his campaign has confirmed, bolstering the candidate's narrative about his civil rights activism.
The black-and-white photo shows a 21-year-old Sanders, then a University of Chicago student, being taken by Chicago police toward a police wagon. An acetate negative of the photo was found in the Tribune's archives, said Marianne Mather, a Chicago Tribune photo editor.

Was just thinking....how sad they’re having to drag out (pun intended) photos of the Bern when he was a young protester, to try to bump up his numbers. Lol.
This makes me think of the righteous communist activist, Hillary, at Wellsley.
I’m sure someone from the Trib just woke up recently and remembered this photo from about 50 years ago without any prompting from Bernie’s campaign. This goes to reinforce that Bernie was a professional bum.

Oh Bernie, this won’t help. Hillary! has all the super delegates. She’s already won the nomination, you just don’t know it yet.
As much as we dont like the guy, he got out there and was willing to get arrested over this, and that’s a lot more than most people would be willing to do.
This is going to get him big-time votes and respect.
He needs to be taken far more seriously as a contender. This man wont be an easy opponent if he isn’t approached just the right way.

Actually, he showed up at the protest because he found out that if you got arrested, you didn’t have to do anything and they fed you!
