Why would Mitt Romney go on national television and declare, "I think we have good reason to believe that there's a bombshell in Donald Trump's taxes. Either he's not anywhere near as wealthy as he says he is, or he hasn't been paying the kind of taxes we would expect him to pay"? Since when does buttoned-down, white-bread Mitt Romney make audacious, provocative accusations? Romney's accusation might be a safe bet â if not to be verified, then to never be refuted. Just a few years ago, Trump refused to release un-redacted tax returns, even when it could help him win a $5 billion libel lawsuit against a New York Times reporter and author. If Trump was unwilling to release his returns in that circumstance, how likely is it that Trump will release them before Election Day? Just for your info, tax returns have 0 to do w/ someone's net worth. I have already filed my financial statements w/ FEC. They are great! â Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 25, 2016 Trump's wealth is a key part of his public image, his status in the eyes of his fans, and his self-image. On July 15, Trump issued a statement declaring, "As of this date, Mr. Trump's net worth is in excess of TEN BILLION DOLLARS." (Capital letters in original.)

Your observation is suspect. I bet you know nothing about what Trump owns and does not own and probably didn’t ever think of it until yet another NRO Trump hit piece emerges.
Gee, why aren’t they focusing on Hillary? Is it because they want Hillary for President? You want Hillary for President. Isn’t that True?
“A tax return will not necessarily establish personal net worth.”
Exactly. Shows how stupid some people are.
I’d rather see ALL of Hillary’s private server emails or the accounting documents over at the Clintoon Foundation.
I just in the Trump Hotel in Vegas and it looked immaculate. If Trump was hurting it would look like a dump.
See if Rubio can by you a cup of coffee without his credit card being rejected.
Tax returns show your income and taxes paid each year. My net worth has nothing to do with those values.
We will be able to see how his taxes are constructed, and to many people the fact that business deductions are allowed will show that he avoids taxes because of expenses. This is something that we all do if we can. My prediction, there will be no “bombshell” surprise but Trump does not want to look like Romney can push him around, since Romney has a reputation of letting Candy Crowley push him around.
He will wait until he believes he can’t wait any more before he makes the tax forms available. He has also said his forms are audited annually by the IRS. That may mean that recent forms are still being adjudicated. This too should not be a surprise.
None of the candidates are required to release their tax returns.
Trump has already filed a net worth statement. It has been accepted without challenge.
Propagandists will propagandize...
When will you ever learn?
Trump haters hate facts as much as they hate Trump.
I guess you think that just because Willard caved and released his that Trump should also? I would not if I was in his position. Why give the media and the GOPe a couple of thousand pages to play gotcha with? Trump should say he will release his tax return the minute Obama unseals all his records.
Exactly!
Nobody cares about his tax returns. We care about Trump taking up for Americans instead of selling us out to foreigners and the new world order. BUILD THE WALL is what matters!
From what I’ve heard, if he had just put his inheritance in an index fund and let it sit there, he would be wealthier than he is today.

Whatâs in the presidency for DT? Search as I may, all I can come up with is ego and legacy. If he wins, his properties will become terrorist targets. His family will have no freedom with their SS details. Yes, getting building permits fast-tracked is a bennie, but is it worth it? He doesnât need the money. Heâs not a natural philanthropist who wants to expand exposure to the fine arts, education, etc. He doesnât have enemies to seek revenge against: heâll deal with anybody. He views half the nationâs population as sex toys. Why does he want the bully pulpit? Does he need more physical gold to plumb, fixture, paint and electoplate with?
I’m not worried about Trump’s tax returns because if there was really anything of any substance in them then the Obama IRS would have already leaked them.
If Romney is a Republican, why is he attacking the Republican frontrunner? WHAT A D!CK.
Even one of his banks, Deutschebank, only estimated his net worth at $750 million.
I’m surprised Romney would turn on his supporter like this.
“Income” is not “net worth”.i don’t care if he doesn’t have 10 billion dollars, but he’s got. Enough to fund his own campaign, including the airplane.
Lightweight losing candidate Mitt Romney asks about my tax returns. I have a store that is worth more than him.Posted by Donald J. Trump on Thursday, February 25, 2016
