As Live Actions Calvin Freiburger reported, Donald Trump has made some confusing statements about Planned Parenthood. Again.
Despite having pledged to fully defund the group, Trump seemed to imply funding could continue if the money didnt support Planned Parenthoods abortion services. In an interview last month on Meet the Press, the presidential candidate got this question from Chuck Todd
Democrats will say that money they give to Planned Parenthood does not go to abortions, that the money they give to Planned Parenthood only goes to other womens health including mammograms and things like that. If you knew the government money were only going to that, would you support funding Planned Parenthood?
Trumps response wasnt the clearest. He initially said, Yeah, if it didnt have to do with abortions, and then went on to tout the very good work on lots of womens issues that his many, many female friends say Planned Parenthood does. While that seems to imply he would continue funding Planned Parenthoods non-abortion related activities, Trump followed with this:
Planned Parenthood does a lot of good, does a really good job on a lot of different areas, but not on abortion. So I am not gonna fund it if its doing the abortion. I am not gonna fund it. Now they say its three percent, and its four percent, some people say its sixty percent. I dont believe its sixty percent, by the way, I think its probably a much lower number. But Planned Parenthood does some very good work. But I would defund as long as theyre doing abortions.
A few things should be clarified here. One is that contrary to what Chuck Todd says, Planned Parenthood doesnt do mammograms. It does do abortions, howeverover three hundred thousand every year.
According to Planned Parenthood, tax dollars dont subsidize their abortion business, as the money can only be used for other purposes. While that might be true in theory, the graphic below explains how well it works in practice:
Further, far from threatening womens access to healthcare, defunding Planned Parenthood could actually improve it (more on that later). But while women wouldnt be negatively impacted, there are definitely some men whod have big problems if Planned Parenthood wasnt around.
Although sexual abuse is often hard to detect, warning signs can crop up. Colorados Office of Children, Youth, & Families explains that when a child under fourteen becomes pregnant or contracts a venereal disease, its time to get suspicious. Timothy Smith understood that, which is why he brought his thirteen year-old stepdaughter to Planned Parenthood for an abortion after getting her pregnant. Thankfully for him, staff there werent too concerned; one later explained that being thirteen and pregnant alone is not a red flag.
Smith wasnt unique; fellow child rapists Luis Gonzalez-Jose, John Blanks, Jr., Adam Gault, Joseph Coles, Kevon Walker, Edgar Ramirez, and Grey David Woods obtained coverup abortions from Planned Parenthood too.
Alleged serial rapist Tyler Kost appears to have gotten a hand without even knowing it. When one of his alleged victims went to Planned Parenthood, she was told that reporting the assault would involve too much work. The Pinal County Sheriffs Office has said an investigation could have been opened months earlier if a report had been filed.

That lack of concern at Planned Parenthood is something Live Action investigators have repeatedly documented. Using hidden cameras, theyve caught staff offering to hide hide abusive relationships and set up abortions on underage prostitutes who cant speak English and wont know whats going on.
This type of outfit shouldnt receive taxpayer funding, no matter how much good work Donald Trump thinks they do. Thankfully, a better alternative exists.
Throughout the country, more than thirteen thousand federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) supply care to people with limited means. Theyre not only far more accessible than Planned Parenthood, they also provide more services, performing over five hundred thousand mammograms annually.
Tell Congress you want Planned Parenthoods funding sent to FQHCs instead. While youre at it, tell the presidential contenders that this isnt an issue pro-lifers are willing to compromise on. If theyre confused about that, then its something we need to straighten out.

tagline
Actually they cost a thymus gland and liver!
This frightens me a bout Trump. It is very naive to think Planned Parenthood does any good work. Their executives should all be in prison at the very least. This is an organization that is built on the blood of millions of murdered babies. And this organization has recently been proven to sell baby body parts.
Trump may indeed govern conservatively if he becomes president, but statements like this are far from reassuring.
They keep asking the same questions over and over again. He said he would defund them if they’re doing abortions. Next question.
FReepers the only “good” thing a Planned Parenthood agency can do is to close it’s doors FOREVER!
There is NOTHING good about an organization who’s founder wanted to wipe out millions of people and called them “human weeds”. Margaret Sanger and her ideas came from the pits of hell and they should return there!
Dead horse meets baseball bat. Again.
My new tagline because of the Trump supporters on this thread: http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/3404607/posts
Constitutionally low-information Trump doesnt undersand that Planned Parenthood is irrelevant to the federal government. Trumps supporters need to get him up to speed with the fact that the states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for anything like Planned Parenthood, federal funding for Planned Parenthood unconstitutional.
So much so, that Cecile Richards like Trumps kind words.
Anyone who wants to be the Republican nominee should know full well that PP does no mammograms.
Your candidate is either a liar or a dunce.
How can you square that and say you are a conservative?
Most of the women who come in contact with PP are not pregnant and do not get pregnant. They claim a half million pregnancies averted due to birth control services.
I think Trump’s comment is correct. And, he disclaimed support for abortions.
That would be a yuge wasted effort. The man is brain dead when it comes to the Constitution.
What he will do is get with his Rove look-alike and ask him what the people want to hear him say about the Constitution.
He will then say what he thinks they want to hear and all the Dumpsters will swoon.
A HUGE AMEN and IF TRUMP supports keeping the doors of Planned Parenthood open ( abortions or not)... I wouldn’t even CONSIDER him honest!!!
No. Trump changing decades of Republicans' funding of PP would hand the Dems a nugget proven to be a campaign killer: WAR ON WOMEN.
Trump has the same position on abortion that each Republican president has had since R v W. It is the position of the RNC.
I am pro-life---but you know this is just another GOPe/Globalist ploy to sink the one man who will make America great again and we can return to conservative issues instead of fighting for our existence between immigration, trade and muslims imported here.
You think the GOPe would have Trump's BACK on ANYTHING he came out with? Dems crushed Romney on just contraception and made that into a War on Women. Fighting for our existence excludes being suicidal.
re: “He said he would defund them if theyre doing abortions. Next question.”
Not exactly. He said any money given to Planned Parenthood by his administration could not be used for abortions.
That doesn’t mean they wouldn’t do abortions, only that the funding given to them by the government wouldn’t be used directly for that.
The problem is, giving government money to PP frees up other money they receive from other sources to use directly for abortions. It indirectly helps PP fund abortions.
Hey a few dead babies are a small price pay for secure borders, protecting jobs and beating Hillary, besides it does turn a profit.
while i am against abortion it is not going to be made illegal anytime soon so this election i have bigger fish to fry so to speak
