Trump Fever Has Broken: It's Over for the Donald
march 5 2016 | beebuster2000

Posted on 03/05/2016 4:24:20 PM PST by beebuster2000

It would appear Trump fever has broken. It would seem the down, dirty, and ugly attacks by Rubio particularly, but also Romney, Cruz and others have kicked in.

I sense that Trump has become a figure of ridicule, and no politician survives that. Plus his latest flip flops, like on torture, have weakened him as a serious person, although that may not have been obvious at the time. I think the teflon has worn off.

If true, Chris Christy gets the bad timing of the year award

I don’t expect Trump supporters to leave the fold over Kansas. However Rubio is having a truly bad day and night.

Agreed, way too much emotion and not enough clear heads.

Until Cruz can win a large population primary state that isn’t his home state, arguing an inflection point has happened is a stretch.

Congratulations to Cruz on the win, but to infer it’s an inflection point from it is just too much.

I roasted a Trump vanity earlier today. Cruz vanities deserve no less. I thought this site was where we discussed issues??

What are their FR nicks?

¡Jebito! or ¡Yeb!, Mittens or Willard (his first name), and Little Marco or the Marcobot.

In the case of ¡Jebito!, the italics and the inverted exclamation point allude to his fluency en español.

“I don’t know anyone who likes Cruz”

Why don’t you tell us how many people in the Senate love Trump? Do they hate him because he is nasty? Or is it just Cruz?

Dh just returned from some fire training, topic turned to politics and they all said that the more Trump’s enemies put the hate on, the more they want to vote for him.

You mentioned SE Cupp? Poor thing has trouble finding shirts that fit without the fabric stretching. She does the Naughty Librarian look well. Conservative commentary? Not her strength.

You forgot Alaska.

As of this evening, you can add Kansas (Cruz 23, Trump 9, Rubio 5). Cruz is also ahead in Maine (9% reporting).

Trump is ahead in Kentucky, and the polls are still open in Louisiana.

Trump fever might be waning as you say but Rubio is as cold as dry ice. Rubio needs to go rejoin his best bud Jeb and stop the nonsense of continuing his campaign.

The important question is this: are dems voting for him now because they actually want him to be president or are they Clinton supporters and simply feel Trump is the weaker opponent.

There hasn't been a single article claiming any Democrat plot to do so. It would take millions of dollars to push 20,000 Democrats to register GOP to vote Trump, as they did in Mass.

He's given the opposition plenty of ammunition himself. I don't like to see it though because I think he is the only one who can beat Hillary unless she gets handicapped more than she has been.

Sanders seems to be holding his own and raising lots of money. There was a piece somewhere that a lot of donations were illegal. As to Hillary, the media are playing it like Powell did it, Rice did it, Kerry did it, and one other whose name escapes me.

That is disingenuous. They didn't have their own servers (please correct me if I am wrong about that). They didn't migrate classified information from the govt servers (secure or not). They didn't tell an employee to remove classification headers and transmit. They didn't give a flash drive and other backups to a lawyer without a clearance. They didn't have a company working on their servers that had no clearance. They didn't pay their IT guy out of their own pockets. There's probably more; some I am not thinking of on the fly and some only the shadows know. But I am not holding my breath that anything will come of it. Unless somebody high up wants her indicted, the fix is in. That's why they have the public believing she did nothing wrong.

I'm thinking perhaps in the near past, the govt didn't have the controls in place they do now; it's the type of thing that evolves with time. So the others might not have been under the same protocols Hillary should have been. "It was allowed." That's pretty weak. She slipped through a loophole, outfoxed them (higher ups) throughout her entire tenure as SOS and well beyond. Some no doubt knew and let it slide. And when she finally turned some of the emails over to the State Department, it was extremely late in the day, and it appears the only reason she did it is that she had been found out by the Benghazi committee and made public.

Brian Pagliano produced logs that evidently show her server wasn't hacked. That is probably good news, but it could have been. And there is/was something seriously wrong with her taking all that advice from Sidney Blumenthal. If that's the best she can do for an advisor, we are in deep trouble if she gets elected.

Were they all dodging FOIA requests? FOIA is a law. And I really don't trust that the State Department has been above board about this whole thing.

Why has Powell used his prestige and stuck up for her? Has Petraeus weighed in?

Back to Trump. If his flip flops are sincere, I'm ok with that, especially torture and killing families (at this point anyway). But if his flip flops are due to bad press/polling, I like someone who unwaveringly stands for what they believe in.
