Chicago, Trump’s Incitements, and Cruz’s Response
National review ^ | 3/13/16 | Andrew McCarthy

Posted on 03/13/2016 5:35:26 AM PDT by RaceBannon

It is ludicrous to argue that, because the hard Left is primarily responsible for the outbreak of chaos and violence that caused Donald Trump’s Chicago rally to be canceled last night, it is wrong to condemn the thuggery Trump often encourages at his appearances. Trump has encouraged physical battery at his campaign events, even telling supporters he’d pay their legal fees if they get arrested for assaulting dissenters. (See, e.g., Iowa event: ”So if you see somebody getting ready to throw a tomato, knock the crap out of ‘em, would you? Seriously. Okay? Just knock the hell — I promise you, I will pay for the legal fees. I promise. I promise”; see also Las Vegas event: regarding an unruly protester removed by security, Trump tells crowd, “I’d like to punch him in the face. He’s smiling, having a good time.”) Trump has continued to fan these flames even after it has become obvious that some of his supporters are acting on the invitation to resort to violence. Incitement to violence is a crime; incitement to violence at a large rally is incitement to riot — a crime that can get people badly injured or even killed.

Both of those incidences cited are self defense. They are a reaction to 1) protesters throwing tomatoes at Trump and his supporters and 2) a protester beating up on Trumps supporters. What are you going to in similar circumstances? WE HAVE A RIGHT TO SELF DEFENSE. Oh as for Cruz claim the Trump campaign ruffs up female reporters. Not True, totally debunked.

You speak truth, my FRiend. Logic has no place/standing when it comes to criticizing Ted Cruz. w/sarc. It is all emotion - not logic. Emotion has its place, but is best channeled when coupled with logic.

For the record, after this.....,

I WILL NEVER VOTE FOR CRUZ under any circumstances.

Cruz is taking the side of the Leftist Establishment/Globalist/Uniparty

This is so over the top. I have lost ALL RESPECT for Cruz.

He’s nothing but a typical Ivy League North Eastern Elitist Lecturing us.

If they were so correct, then why is the country going to $hit under their leadership for the last 30 years????

We are either a country of laws or we are not.

It’s OBVIOUS you do not want to make America great again. After all you were born in Canada.

Of course, I didn’t mean it literally.

But it’s disappointing to find out how many people are enmeshed with the GOPe.

I’m disappointed in you. Trump hasn’t “incited violence” and you and Ted know it. Trump has only articulated the real concerns and reactions of real Americans and shown some moxie in the process.

Then he attracted the ire of the violent Leftists and the in-the-pocket Right. We all should be standing by Trump in this, even Ted fans.

Ted showed his true inner self -as do you - when he and you blamed Trump for the ugliness Obama has helped foster.

You are watching the wheels come off the Ted Cruz bus....

Couple his support of the leftist thugs with his increasingly shrill false attacks on Trump and you now see the real Ted Cruz...
One who comes apart under pressure and demonstrates he’s willing to abandon his espoused principles to win....

For me it was either Cruz or Trump come November....no way I vote for Cruz now....that is how much he has alienated me with his recent statements...

People who assert that Trump is advocating or inviting violence are dishonest.

Of course their dishonest, as these protests are sponsored activities.

The "Blame Trump" reaction is a coordinated attack as something, anything, that can stop Trump.

What we're being told by the coordinated reaction is Move-On and BLM are right, and that we all must speak in Leftist code, also known as Politically Correct. After all, as citizens of this Country, we must be talked (down) to in a certain way, for we're far too stupid and so easily led, we might become violent.

It's been very plain to me from the beginning.

Cruz is not a natural born citizen. Trump is.

Of all the insupportable distortions which confront us daily concerning Donald Trump, this denial that Trump is inviting violence ranks as one of the most egregious.

Much of what I see written here about Cruz is wishful thinking. It isn’t over until its over.

Ted Cruz - "While the rapist is indeed at fault in this case, by wearing skimpy clothes, that woman bears some responsibility for the rape."

If you can't see why people are mad at Cruz, well... You can't be helped.

Donald Trump cynically took the low road to gain advantage in the primary process but it is not Trump evidently who is to be condemned but the messengers who indict him. Why is it right for Trump to gain votes by taking the low road but wrong for Cruz to expose Trump to gain back some of those primary votes?

I was only posting the NR Against Trump issue authors to which this particular person being discussed was party.

We have to be mindful of where these people are coming from and never let them bleach their spots in the guise of something objective and ‘concerned’. They are neither.

You and the MSM just don’t get it.

We’re not as dumb as you believe.

Your twisted and tortured “reasoning”, when faced with facts and the correct context, is ludicrous.

It doesn’t matter how your “side” tries to present it, your boy Cruz, along with the others who want to bring down Mr. Trump, are pathetic weasels who are overtly obvious with their agenda and goals.

Your pitiful lamentations are not helpful.

Sorry, but Cruz should have simply condemned the protestors. We are supposed to stand together against that kind of crap, not exploit it for cynical political advantage.
