Am taking a travel vacation to visit friends up and down the Eastern seaboard. Any tips on what to avoid and not to avoid? Haven't been down that way in years.

Avoid Baltimore. I happen to like PA a lot. Amish country is beautiful and folks in PA are a real hoot if youre a southerner or westerner.

Stay South of the Mason-Dixon Line.

Any areas with a MLK boulevard are not places to get out of the car.

Avoid the eastern seaboard from Massachussetts through northern Virginia. Despite pockets of strong conservatism in the wasteland it is dominated with despicable people

Spend some time in Savannah before it gets too warm.
I have never been there but always wanted to visit St. Augustine.

If you go into Manhattan, walk with your chin up, pay attention and stay south of 125th st.

Don’t worry about Baltimore; it’s not as bad as you’ve heard, . . . at least not in the daytime . . . on a calm day . . . in some neighborhoods. They have a few CVS stores that are still open. I ran a red light in a bad neighborhood there a couple years ago, and a cop gave me a thumbs up instead of a ticket.
Gettysburg is nice. Skyline Drive in VA is nice. The Smithsonian in DC is amazing. Liberty Hall in Phily is worth seeing.

It’s been a while, but I always enjoyed visiting the Outer Banks off North Carolina. If it’s windy you could probably spread your arms and fly as far as Orville and Wilbur did!
