Examining Trump's Problem With Female Voters
NBC ^ | 3/24/16 | Carrie Dann

Posted on 03/24/2016 11:41:13 AM PDT by libbylu

This month, about half (47 percent) of Republican female primary voters said they could not imagine themselves voting for Trump. (About 40 percent of male GOP primary voters said the same.) Compare that to their relative willingness to accept Trump's rivals. Only about three in ten female Republican voters say they can't imagine backing Ted Cruz (32 percent) and John Kasich (27 percent). The poll, which was taken before Marco Rubio exited the presidential race, also showed that only 30 percent of GOP women couldn't imagine backing the Florida senator.

DT’s negs are going to plunge even lower after the bride wars. His true colors and mile-wide mean streak are apparent to everyone but his cult. Tweeting the photo comparison of his wife and Heidi reinforces that he views women as livestock. Can’t walk that back.

Once /Bush/Romney/Cruz/Kasich take a hint, then Trump can concentrate on the general election.

Why? Do you seriously believe that the stuff Trump is saying about Kelly, or the stuff with Cruz's wife, actually helps him win votes against Cruz/Kasich? And what if Bush or Romney never "take a hint", and keep cracking on him during the general election? Is Trump going to keep doing this kind of stuff right on through the general election.

I can't stand Trump, but I'm resigned to him being the nominee, so I hope he beats Hillary. But his obsession with tit-for-tat insults and comments that offend women are not helping his primary campaign, and they certainly aren't going to help him in the general election.

There are a ton of people in this country who can't stand Hillary, and would love to vote against her. That's the reason even an unappealing guy like Cruz does fairly well against her in the polls. A warm bucket of spit could probably beat her in the general election. The problem is that Trump seems bound and determined to make himself less appealing to swing voters than that warm bucket of spit. And people who otherwise just couldn't bring themlseves to vote for Hillary are going to do it just because it's Trump on the other side.

Your candidate needs to grow up. And I'm not saying it should be Cruz or Kasich, because any scenario under which Trump doesn't win is going to anger enough of his supporters that we lose anyway. So it has to be Trump.

So he ought to look like he at least cares somewhat about how many people he offendse.

Trump hates women. He has zero respect for them.

He regards them as sex objects, not as people.

He’s gone too far in attacking Heidi Cruz. Ted Cruz had nothing to do with the unclothed Melania ad but the media is not reporting the truth about that.

It is totally documented that it was from a disparate group.

But this particular story about the Melania Trump ad is not one of those times. Trump says the group that made the ad, the Make America Awesome PAC is a pro-Cruz SuperPAC.

Cruz says they are not. The media has been reporting on both of these assertions and letting the viewer decide. This is absolute malpractice, because the objective facts, including the FEC reports, indicate clearly that they are an independent anti-Trump PAC, period.

There simply is not a universe in which there are facts indicating that Ted Cruz has anything to do with this PAC.

The truth of the matter is that Trump wanted it to be from Cruz as an excuse for him to attack Ted’s wife in a totally classless, typical Trump way.

If women won’t sleep with Trump or marry him, he has no use for them. All these women trumpettes would be totally amazed if they knew just how much they mean to Trump and exactly how much respect he has for them.

And yet they pitifully adore and worship him.

How sad it is.

Once /Bush/Romney/Cruz/Kasich take a hint, then Trump can concentrate on the general election.

And how will that change his poll numbers among women?

Trumpers hate unfavorable polls and immediately discredit them.

Or, in Trump speak, they call them a steaming pile of crap.

Those women at his rallies are pathetic groupies who would be shocked, shocked at what he really thinks of them.

If Trump has zero respect for women that puts him right up there with Bill Clinton.

In other words,so what?

That's what the know-it-alls said before the primaries started. I doubt it's what would really happen. In spite of media garbage, most women are not at heart FemNazis. In the privacy of voting, most will prefer an Alpha Male to a loud-mouth phony *itchy woman. It's in our DNA.

I wonder if that isn't part of what happened in caucuses. When the vote was not private, many women would behave as a gaggle would.

Cruz is the only candidate who’s ever gotten over 50% in any state.

He is now leading in Wisconsin and two national polls show him in a virtual tie with Trump nationally.

Save your dancing shoes, Johnnie, you may not be at the prom.

No offense to the women in the audience, but women are remarkably changeable creatures. How many of them - when they first met their future spouse - said? “I wouldn't go out with him for anything.” Or “Marry him! I'd sooner become a nun.”

It's because we change you to the point where we can stomach being married to you.

All condescension aside, Trump isn't going to change. His opinions towards woman in general are well known. And while that is part of the reason why I won't vote for him, it's far from the most important part. But it will continue to cost him among women voters. As as fast as he's alienating demographic groups then pretty soon old white guys will be all he has left.

Cruz’s response to the truly low and ugly Trump tweet was wonderful.

I don’t know how he had the discipline to do it.

“Real men don’t attack women. Your wife is lovely and Heidi is the love of my life.”

That right there is presidential and Trump couldn’t do it if you spotted him 5 words.

So why is Trump winning the women demographic with actual votes in the Primaries?
