Chile’s [Christian] Arabs and the Erasure Of History
American Thinker ^ | 31 March 2016 | Mike Konrad

One of my favorite pastimes is taking a look at South America; I am fascinated by South America's premier ethnic group: the Arabs! Yes, how many Americans know that Arabs are a major force in our southern neighbor.

The Arabs are elites in South America, roughly equivalent to the Jews in success - especially in Chile.

Chile's Palestinians number around 500,000 – estimates of numbers can vary wildly, as many are intermarried with Italian, Spanish, and German stocks. They are often third, fourth, and fifth generation Chilean. What distinguishes them is their Christianity. They are almost always Christian. (95% or more).

I found this fascinating. I did not know about this group of Palestinian emigres in the 19th Century to S. America

Not all people from the ME are “Arab”. For example, Bin Laden and Assad do not even remotely look like they are from the same ethnic group. Lebanese, Syrian, and Egyptian Christians differ from their Muslim neighbors in more than just religion.

There are Arab Christians, I already knew that. Many are citizens of Israel. I just didn’t know their history as emigres to S. America.

Saw the same thing in Ecuador, many of the prosperous families are arab Christians.

As to why arab Christians support muslim causes, I’m forced to conclude that they are ethnic Christians, Christian in name only.

That, and subjected to leftist propaganda that passes for news. That’s as much true in latin America as it is in the US.

In neighboring Argentina there are also plenty of Arabs - some Christian some not. . . and a few converts to Christianity: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohamed_Al%C3%AD_Seineld%C3%ADn

Yes, I can’t figure that part out. Why would they support Muslims who persecuted their ancestors?

Whether you like Cruz or not...

You may remember he was invited to speak before a group of American arab Christians. He made some remark that equated the slaughter of Mideast Christians with the attacks on Israeli jews, and got boo’d. He doubled down, and the boo’s really started. He stood there a while and finally said, if you don’t stand with Israel, I can’t stand with you... and walked off the stage.

Some people said he should have known better, but I don’t think most people realize that despite the almost continual murder of Christians in the middle east by muslims (not to mention, everywhere else) arab Christians tend always to support their ethnic brethren. Its almost like Stockholm Syndrome.

There also were a lot of Lebanese Christian Arabs who fled to Mexico to escape getting drafted into the Turkish army during World War I. That is how Salma Hayek and Carlos Slim (Salim) got their last names.

"Arab" basically just means that they speak Arabic (in much the same way as "Hispanic" has come to absurdly mean an ethnic group). Lebanese and Syrian "Arabs" are probably more closely related to Jews than they are to other people who call themselves "Arabs."

Yep, these fools do not see the jealousy their muslim brothers will wreck on them as they are successful in business while the muslims drink camel pi$$ in total corruption

Arab Christians also dominate the economies of some African countries like the Ivory Coast. Socially and economically they're nothing like their Muslim "brethren."

Probably so. Those peoples all predate the Arab-Muslim conquest of the Levant.
