Testosterone Poisoning (and what to do about it)
Liberty Island ^ | 2/24/16 | Harris

...So I will place a deadly weapon in my child's hand and I will teach him to use it.

Something died in me just now, because I wrote that, but still I will give my boy a gun so he will learn how to kill and how not to kill before he kills something by accident like I did with his mom while she sat on the bed.

Men aren't safe. I wish I had known this before we got Andrey started and so I want to teach it to him sooner than I learned it. Women aren't safe either and so it is necessary for a man to live dangerously. And, because no one cares much for that anymore, it's going to be a lonely world for my son. But that's part of being a man too, living in a lonely world is.

After I sent Andrey back to his mom, and to Ted probably, I went to shoot pheasant with my buddy Cal because I wanted to hear what he had to say about these ideas I've been thinking up and because Cal has a kid the same age and I want Andrey to be around Cal so he can see what it looks like to stay married.

But it made no sense to shoot pheasant because we were walking through tall weeds in the drizzle and getting our jeans soaked. And, besides, I told Cal the pheasant have had a tough time of it lately and there aren't enough for us to be shooting them. So we gave it up and I put the pheasant Cal had already shot into a crock-pot with some onions and I brewed a pot of coffee so we could talk.

After Cal heard my thing about how men aren't safe and how people want the world to be safe, he asked me do I like this guy who has been on TV sticking it to all the politically correct types. I told him no, I don't like the guy, and he asked why, because I'm supposed to be the type of guy who likes sticking it to the politically correct types. I said I don't like him because he has testosterone poisoning...

“..before he kills something by accident like I did with his mom while she sat on the bed.....???”

He just said something stupid and she left him.

Guys like this are part of the reason this country is in trouble.

Person 1: You like Audrey?
Person 2: Not really. How about Andrew?
Person 1: Close, yet not quite my cup of tea.
Person 2: How about we opt for ANDREY instead?
Person 1: Brilliant! I love you!
Person 2: Might cause bathroom confusion, we will deal with that later.

Way too rambling, wandering, and incomprehensible...so I very quickly lost interest.
That absurdity about supposedly killing his wife on the bed encouraged me to stop reading.

I read the article. For anyone afraid to inflict this on your mind, I did it for you. Killing his wife by accident was him telling her the reason they had a kid was all her fault because she jumped his bones one day in a horny mood.
She dumped him saying she wished her kid had a different dad.
He spends the rest of the article with his buddy Cal. They cook, Cal takes a nap, Cal listens, Cal is a little boorish in the kitchen. In the end, Cal likes his cooking. And he tells us the kid needs to learn how to use a gun before he becomes a man, and testosterone makes him say cruel things... and “kill” his wife as she sat on he bed. He lives in DC and is a consultant for the DOD. I think he is trying to come out of the closet.

Im gonna go have a drink now.

So it is a story from a guy who married the wrong person and lost her. She emasculated him. He is concerned that his failed marriage translates to being a failure as a man. He doesn’t want to pass that on to his son.

He talks about Donald Trump and how Trump’s bombastic attitude isn’t what he thinks is the answer for a leader and a person to respect or to learn respect from. Not a person for his son to idolize. The same thing he sees himself as being—another Donald.

He did his thinking with his willie and now is paying the price. Wallowing in self pity.

It makes more sense if you read the whole thing and not just a snip out of the middle.

Sometimes it helps for a neurotic to talk it out. It doesn’t always help to listen.

Sounds like the guy wants to relieve his guilty conscience by placing the blame on testosterone.

Drugs - heavy duty or otherwise - are not required.

J-school twerps write like this when not tripping (at least, one assumes they cannot be on drugs every minute, and that such drug-free minutes do coincide with writing, now and then).

We lackluster readers from an earlier era look at a news item for the who/what/when/where/how (and sometimes why), fail to find it, and realize that there’s nothing there. Save a surfeit of feelings ... combing through the text at the site indicates that feelings are the only commodity Micah has a sufficient supply of. Unless it’s misgivings.

Whatever his flaws or strengths, he is still stuck in the pre-literate era, if he cannot concede the obvious - that a gun is a chunk of hardware harboring exactly none of the spiritual attributes he wants to place on it. To insist otherwise is to turn one’s back on everything that has happened since 4400 BC or so.

Sadly, most anti-gun folks believe the same foolishness.

I have the suspicion that Micah’s attempts to rear his son won’t work out well, unless he acknowledges the advances civilization has made in the past 6500 years (give or take) and incorporates a few, at least, in the training program.

The only way this article makes sense is if the author is a chick with crazy eyes.

A guy didn’t write it.
