Time to clean out the locker
I just dropped by to clean out the ol FR locker and to deliver a short missive.
As this primary season ends so does the forum participation of 100s of former freepers. It has become very apparent that the owner, the moderators, and many current freepers feel very threaten by any opposition to their anointed candidate. Only a weak candidate will feel threatened by the opposition and stoop to gutter language and personal insults. We all know to whom I reference.
Donald has never been an individual I could support. This lack of support was one long before his presidential candidacy announcement. Donald is much like a novelty toy you purchase on impulse and it ends up at next years garage sale. Remember the Magic 8 Ball? Well, to me thats Donald. Shake him with a question and you get one answer. Shake him again with the same question and you get a different answer. Yes, the novelty soon wears off.
Last parting thought Should Donald become the republican nominee for president and actually become president remember this it takes only one US senator to stop the government dead in its tracks. Remember that when your candidate makes vulgar and snarky comments about his presidential primary competition.
With the locker now empty and I depart FreeRepublic, Ill leave the door open...not for my return, but for the multitude of individuals that are following my footsteps to brighter forums.
That is a great summary of where I am, except our primary is early, so I voted for Cruz.
I did get to help vote in a strong Trump delegate to the RNC in place of the establishment slate candidate, FWIW. Trump earned it, came in a solid 2nd in this Congressional District, which was the source of 3 delegates. Two for Rubio, one for Trump, per the voting in this CD. But now the Trump delegate is someone who would vote Trump on a 2nd vote.
It doesn’t have much of a beat, and you can’t really dance to it.
I am sticking it out and calling out Trump supporters that treat others like crap. Do you know anybody like that?
Don’t forget your smelly socks. Bye.
Uh, no.
well said...
My FRiend..and you are....a fellow member of the great class of 1998.....even though we totally disagree about Trump...that post is brilliant...
BOL!
What’s up with all these Cruz supporters quitting? Even my Oregon Republican FB page they are quitting. What does that project for his supporters?
Is that a security vidcam shot from a Target mens room?
Cruz did with his filibuster against obamacare that resulted in the shut down. Only one supported him, Rand Paul. Funny how the mid term elections after that resulted in us taking the senate.
He was not one of the “chosen” in DC and was severely shunned because of it by Sniffles, Turtle Head and all the rest of the DC crowd. Did Donnie support at least an attempt to stop obamacare? Does he now?
Isn’t it funny how the #NeverTrump crowd had absolutely no problem with voting for Romney, McCain & Bush. Speaks volumes.
The only conclusion one can reach about the drama queens leaving FR: they’re not conservatives, they are neocons. They hate the thought of a Republican being Politically Incorrect & closing the borders. They want the same old milquetoast GOP candidate who constantly apologizes to the media for “offending” someone. They want constant, endless wars that get out troops killed in vain (ex. Iraq).
The hypocrisy of the #Nevertrump crowd is staggering.
I never realized how many conservatives were drama queens, cry baby’s and wimps. My eyes have been opened to the fact that many so called conservatives act and think like progressives i.e., “if my guy doesn’t win then I’m taking my ball and going home to pout”. Terribly sad what the conservative movement has become in that regard. Either way, good bye and good riddance, time for you to join the whiner brigade.
“Your accounts still active, whats the hold up??”
Omg, too funny. Bust out laughing and startled the cats.
I registered with FR back in 1998, when it was the Whitewater forum. In all that time, I have never felt compelled to post a vanity “article” or an opus. I walk away sometimes, but I never feel the need to announce it.
Donald Trump is a Republican the same way Michael Bloomberg was. Started out as a Democrat then switched to Republican to run for office and once he won switched his party affiliation. Ran as a Republican and once he won governed as a Democrat.
Don't count this idea out yet. Trump can knock someone down then pick him up and be friends. He doesn't take it all personal and puts business first.
He starts out by insulting those he finds insulting when he calls Trump our “anointed” candidate. When his candidate is the one who believes he’s been anointed by God.
As for why he’s still around, apparently he’s like the battered spouse. “Beat me! Rape me! Make me write hot checks!”
And I know nothing’s funny about battered spouses. I’m not trying to be funny.
Agreed. Trump is demonstrably to the left of many pols who have earned FR scorn in years past.
