WEST COLUMBIA, SC A West Columbia man was arrested Monday after police say he stole a steak from Bi-Lo.
The ribeye, weighing in at just over seven pounds, was worth $68. Joseph Anthony Davis, 52, tried to throw the steak under a vehicle when police confronted him, according to the incident report from the West Columbia Police Department.
Davis told police he took the steak “because I was going to sell it to someone to make some money so I can pay my child support,” the report says.
When officials ran a criminal history check, it showed that Davis had three prior shoplifting charges on his record – all from 2009.

His child support payment is probably somewhere close to 60% of his current income, so it is hard to blame a guy for taking drastic action.

Yep, Judges, a lot of them just do what they’re told in South Carolina. When you understand the words... don’t give a dam are real only then can play their game.
Some of them are first class a holes along with their crooked police stooges.
Don’t get me wrong I love HONEST law (have been one) and order but the rest of them can kiss my #grits. There are now a lot more legal lawful people out there looking for these law crooks, people have had enough.

And until you’ve been in the trenches with and against them and won (with bigger/higher laws help) you would not believe how low they go and how deep they get.
From the Speaker of the house down through the attorney general all the way down to the courts stenographer, everybody knew their part and tried to play when I was in it.
Don’t any of y’all kid yourself..there are no surprises in court and that man in the story will make 30 to 60 days and still owe the child support.
From the littles town to the big city’s it’a all about the dollar bill.....yours.
Their using any excuse by stopping your children to get money now. It’s the quickest way and it leaves you with 3 to 4 choices. You will pay $$$ but you will feel good about the choice you made to get your child out oftrouble and jail.
