Next week my wife and I are going to Canada for a few days and I would like to buy some Canadian whisky. My price range would be in the area of Johnnie Walker Black Label and below. Any ideas?
Canadian Club Reserve 12 year.
Forty Creek has a smooth taste.
Molson. I am a beer guy.
Canadian Club...
Seagram’s 83 Whiskey...
Corby Royal Reserve...
Almost ALL Canadian whisky is pure rye whisky...It’s not blended...
Rye whisky is so much smoother than Bourbon....
Ahhhhhh.....Molson Golden!!!!!!
My father was never home; he was always away drinking booze. He saw a sign saying, ‘’Drink Canada Dry!’’ So he went up there
Actually it may be cheaper buy here. I work in a large wine and spirits store and recently had some visiting Canadians marvel at our cheap prices. With VAT and excise taxes you could easily spend more in Canada. My recommendations: Canadian Club 12 year old reserve... look for versions aged in sherry casks. 40 Creek is an excellent Canadian blend. Both Canadian Club and Crown Royal have some excellent rye whiskey
OK, my absolute favorite canadian whisky is actually made in Portland, OR. It’s called Pendleton. Other than that Canadian Club will do. Good luck, eh?
Anything on the bottom shelf is probably OK. ;o)
Lot 40
You’re taking your wife. Do you really love her? Don’t spend below the “Black Label” price range. Take my advice on this!
I wonder if Canadian distillers drink a toast each year to the Prohibition era.
Seconded. Booze are way cheaper here in USA than Canada.
That is what I think too but I don’t drink whisky.
When my brother lived in Vermont and was unable to accompany me to Montreal, he would always ask me to bring him a case of Labatt's beer. For some reason, it tasted better than the Labatt's that was available on this side of the border.
In Canada, one could also buy Club Havana rum from Cuba.
By observing what it's doing to my two son's lives, I've finally concluded that he was absolutely correct!!!
Crown Royal is good as is Crown Royal Black.
Correct. I found Canadian prices more expensive than in the Northeast. Incidentally, I just got back from PR. Their “Duty Free” booze at the SJU airport is also more expensive than here.
The only difference is the Canadian Rye you buy in the states is a blend...
The Canadian Rye you get in Canada is not...
