Sounds like we're not the only people tired of being misinformed by our media. When the forth estate turns into a fifth column then bad things can happen.

Sounds like the Philippinos have had it up to here with corruption. Niceties like democracy go out the window without security.

Are there any LMSM employees in the Philippines this morning?

He knows how to make the press obedient - threaten to kill them.
He obviously learned this lesson from the Muslims, the Democrats and the Blacks (and other "progressive" groups).
To: fella
Imagine if that happened here... wouldn’t be any media left. ;-D
To: fella
No person who believes in freedom of the press would be comfortable with this.

Let's keep an open mind? This needs to be considered on a case by case basis:

Before I even opened the comments I’m thinking this man knows who the real enemies are. The old media is the mouthpiece of organized crime that is running the Rat party.

This guy could be real trouble.
Yeah great, get the criminals.
That will get you elected.
There is something this article didn't mention at all though --
this guy is far too close to communists, far too quick to praise them.
Is this actually a communist takeover?
Is that his real agenda?
Will this be the last election in the Philippines for a long time?
Maybe I'm wrong, but then again maybe it will be too late to worry soon.

Bad report. He is using hyperbole and sarcasm against Reporters from the establishment who take his words out of context.
It is the establishment who looks the other wat when someone kills journalists here in the Philippines...often the murders are professional hits ordered by corrupt politicians and businessmen who kill whistle blowers.
Duterte’s over the top rhetoric has already sent a message that he will punish the crooked ones who divert public money into their own pockets. This article is the crooked political establishment defending their own.
