Islamic State Members From the West Seek Help Getting Home.(Rats fleeing sinking ship)
Wall Street Journal ^ | June 6, 2016

Disenchanted Islamic State members recruited from the West have increasingly been contacting their governments and asking for help in getting home, according to diplomats and a Syrian network that aids defectors.

Some have turned up at diplomatic missions in Turkey, and others have sent furtive messages to their governments seeking assistance in escaping from territory the extremist group controls in neighboring Syria, according to the diplomats, who represent six Western missions in Turkey.

The calls for help from Westerners come as Islamic State loses ground and faces fresh assaults on its Raqqa stronghold and on Fallujah, Iraq, where it has ruled for more than two years.

Some Westerners seeking to escape from Islamic State are fighters, and others are people who were enticed to move to the group’s so-called caliphate and declared their loyalty, and now find themselves in dire straits, the diplomats said.

“Their troops are now starting to leave. There are a lot of French people who are coming back,” France’s national intelligence coordinator, Didier le Bret, said at a recent security conference. “They’ve got a feeling it’s not going that well.” He said citizens of other European countries are also returning.....

Orrrrrrrrr...
They are planning to infiltrate and attack in the future. Any country, including ours, that allows them to return is asking for a lot of trouble, to say the least.

I guess we will have to trade the remainder of the Gitmo prisoners in order to get them back. We don’t want to leave anybody behind. They served with honor and distinction. /s.

Guess its better to be a live deserter with a permanent death sentence than a dead jihadist communing with some barren sand dune. These jihadists will be targets of wannabe jihadists in prison or wherever they go.

They are estimating that 150 of the jihadist deserters are from the US and trying to get back. For the many Somalians among them I would give them a ticket back to Minneapolis but instead make an unscheduled stop and drop them off in Mogadishu and let them rot there.

What a great attack plan. The idiot liberals will invite them back, pay their way in, and coddle them to show “YOU SEE WE care.”

While they come back, battle hardened and trained to kill as many Europeans as possible.

We use to have an extra grotesque method of execution reserved for traitors. Now, they’ll get a plane ticket and free apartment.

Some “mistakes” cannot be forgiven or undone. IMO you leave your country to fight with terrorists who act like animals & have sworn to attack/destroy your country, then there is no “coming back home” for you. Citizenship should be revoked.

So if indeed ISIS is on the ropes, who should be given credit? Russia? Iran? USA?

“So if indeed ISIS is on the ropes, who should be given credit? Russia? Iran? USA?”

I would think in Syria, a combo of Kurds,Assad forces, Russia, Iran are meeting success despite the US efforts to undermine Assad and the Russians. In Iraq, I would think the Kurds, Iraq shia militia, Iran, and to a lesser extent the Iraq army and US support.

“...despite the US efforts to undermine Assad and the Russians. In Iraq,...”

Correction. Meant in Syria not in Iraq.

Aw, whaaaaaaaa! No sympathy for them. Some may be disenchanted and sincerely regret their stupidity but others may be Trojan horses. We shouldn’t trust either group.

A few will be recruited by the Soviets ( and I mean Soviets) for the KGB, now SFB or something like that. They have done that since the time of the Czar Chekist police to Nazi War Criminals/SS/Gestapo, and European criminals/Marxists (Carlos the Jackal, Japanese Red Army, etc).

They need people who can infiltrate their former comrades or who can just move easily through a non-Russian nation.

History does repeat itself.
