Someone help me out, I may be wrong, but why isn't the media APPLAUDING the history-making night?!
Seems to me that Donald Trump is the VERY FIRST MAJOR PARTY NOMINEE who was born in Queens New York!!
Other Presidential Firsts:
1. Geo. Washington — 1st POTUS born in Virginia
2. Jno. Adams — 1st POTUS born in Mass.
3. Thom. Jefferson — 1st POTUS to play the fiddle
4. Jas. Madison — 1st POTUS to attend univerisity in New Jersey
5. Jas. Monroe — 1st POTUS to have served previously as a U. S. Senator
6. J. Q. Adams — 1st POTUS who was son of a previous POTUS
7. And. Jackson — 1st POTUS of Scots-Irish ancestry
8. Mart. van Buren — 1st POTUS of Dutch ancestry
The list could go on and on, except that my wife is now calling me to lunch.
But anyway, every POTUS has been a “first” in some way or another!
Baraq Hussein Obama: First muslim communist president
(He will be 92 on June 12.)
Barack Obama -- 1st POTUS born outside North America.
Actually Zero was born in North America, just not in the US. Many similiarities to Cruz, interestingly enough.
>> George Herbert Walker Bush — 1st POTUS to have a June birthday <<
A great find! Congrats!
Moreover, GHWB was the 1st POTUS to have flown as a Navy pilot, while his son, George W, was the 1st POTUS to have served as a Air Force pilot.
And first female president..... ;-)
Would have preferred that he’d have been born in Brooklyn, but eh, I’ll take my next-door borough. ;-)
Assuming that Obama was born in Hawaii, are the Hawaiian Islands really part of North America? They are thousands of miles from any part of the American mainland. Aren’t they better classified as part of Oceania?
He wasn’t born in the US at all.
I wonder where he’ll build his presidential library.
Anyone know how many other New York presidents we’ve had? I can think of Van Buren, T. Roosevelt, F. Roosevelt. I think Chester Arthur was, but not sure.
Good point.
i thought Cleveland was from Buffalo. Even personally sent a man to the gallows and hanged him, IIRC.
Trump is the first person named Trump to be a major party nominee.
I did a little research. You’re mostly right about Cleveland. He was actually born in New Jersey but his family moved to New York when he was young.
Same with Chester Arthur. Born in Vermont but moved to New York.
