This might be simpler than offering anybody a whole book:

I don't buy the idea that there is "radical Islam" and then normal Islam. I view Islam as a special case which is outside of the normal rules which govern how you you approach pseudo-sciences and false religions. There are numerous things which I'd view as false religions or pseudo-sciences which are reasonably harmless, and then the two really major flavors of false religions on the Earth, Islam and Darwinism/Malthusianism, which are not harmless.

My own take on Islam is as follows:

First Islam is a false religion, based on a provably false claim i.e. that there is or could possibly be such a thing as prophecy or prophets in 600 AD. In real life, the last real prophet died around the time of Zechariah as per Zechariah 13. In the ancient world between the fall of the tower and the time of the Trojan war, there were a number of practices meant to communicate with the spirit world more or less directly: prophecy, the Greek oracles, familiar spirits (the "witch of Endor"), and pure electrostatic devices including both the pyramids and the "ark of God" (which was a crude capacitor) mentioned in the OT. All such practices involved static electricity, all involved trance states similar to hypnosis, and all stopped working prior to the time of Alexander.

After the fall of the tower, city states ran for centuries on information coming back from prophets and oracles i.e. every political and business decision which ever came down the road was resolved with that sort of information. When the surface charge of the Earth finally collapsed and those practices stopped working, the information turned into mush and it became dangerous to listen to them. That is why Exodus tells us "thou shalt not suffer a witch to live" and in fact Zechariah 13 says not to suffer a prophet to live either,

ZEC 13:2 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered: and also I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.

ZEC 13:3 And it shall come to pass, that when any shall yet prophesy, then his father and his mother that begat him shall say unto him, Thou shalt not live; for thou speakest lies in the name of the LORD: and his father and his mother that begat him shall thrust him through when he prophesieth.

ZEC 13:4 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the prophets shall be ashamed every one of his vision, when he hath prophesied; neither shall they wear a rough garment to deceive:

Thus the first couple of sentences of the Book of Hebrews describes prophecy as a thing of the distant past on the day Jesus was born:

1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son...

ANYBODY claiming to be a prophet after the time of Christ is basically a con man.

Muhammad's resume is basically that of a bandit chieftain or warlord. The religion was deliberately cobbled together in such a way as to facilitate the control of increasingly large confederations of bandit tribes, and glorifies the kinds of activities that bandits engage in. By Muhammad's time, nobody had any clear idea as to what the word "prophet" actually meant; Muhammad simply seized upon it as a magical element which nobody could ever call him on.

And, basically, the fact that 90+ percent of muslims are perfectly peaceful and live perfectly normal lives or as close as possible to that given the realities they face, is irrelevant; it is the lunatics who are interpreting the religion, as it is written, correctly. And to complete the picture, there is no central authority in Islam to try to put a stop to any of the grief. Anybody in the muslim world can declare himself to be an imam, a mufti, an imperial wizard or whatever, and start issuing fatwas and, until they devise some central authority which is disconnected from Saudi Arabia and Wahhabism, any fatwa will remain just as valid as any other.

There is no law of physics to prevent a Jew or a Christian from being an evil-doer or villain. But in order to BE an evil-doer, a Jew or a Christian has to be in violation of the basic ideas of his religion. In the case of muslims and Islam, that proposition is inverted. A muslim has to be in violation of the ideas of HIS religion, as those ideas are actually written down, to be a normal person.

The bandit-tribe model of society was bypassed by events centuries ago, leaving the muslim world, vast as it is, to stew in its own juices. Even if terrorism were to vanish from the Earth forever as of this very day, there would still be child marriages, inbreeding (something like half of all muslims are inbred and that rises to 70% - 80% in places like Pakistan or Saudi), and a host of other problems which Winston Churchill described (River War, first edition) thus:

“How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property – either as a child, a wife, or a concubine – must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the faith: all know how to die but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome.”
― Winston S. Churchill, https://www.goodreads.com/work/quotes/3092281

In my view, given all of that, at the very least, the United States should not be taking any more of these people in any time soon. Donald Trump recommends a ten year breathing space until we can come up with a rational policy and I would view that as minimal. Also minimal would be rounding up all of these new "Syrian refugees" and sending them back to the muslim world on troop ships. The globalists responsible for these policies cannot possibly have any decent motives; hopefully a President Trump will find some means to deal with them also.

Bill is a facts-only guy which is usually more helpful in making your opinion after you’ve consumed all the material.

“The Mind of Jihad” by Laurent Murawiec is by far the best read on radical Islam.

It’s been said a dozen times, but Robert Spencer is mandatory. Eric Allen Bell’s work is important because he was a liberal who investigated Islam to defend it. Once he leaned of its true nature, he became an advocate on par with Spencer.

Catastrophic Failure by Stephen Coughlin, only $6 on Kindle, has good background on Islam as it pertains to the threat to us, but also the pandering to the Muslim Brotherhood by the Bush and 0bama administrations.
