“Facebook is predicting the end of the written word”
Zuck’s aiming for that coveted leftist “Spoken Word” Grammy in February....
Fits a Facebook user.
The end? no, and it’s stupid to predict it. A reduction in the amount of things printed on paper, yes, and that’s obviously true.
Because once everything is digitized, it’s much easier to change.
Don’t like that history manual’s version of WWII? “Corrected”, with the stroke of a few keys.
We are living in a Brave New World, indeed.
Considering the brain power of the average Facebook user, I’m not surprised.
Judging from the level of writing among my MBA students, I can’t argue too much with that assessment...I’m amazed that some of them graduated from high school. Interestingly, if I can decipher what they’re saying, most of them actually get the concepts of business law. Makes it tough to grade a paper.
How do they plan to notify us when it takes place?
Farcebook certainly signals the end of thought...
People have been predicting the death of the written word for a long time. It’s very popular among the people who are never held accountable for false predictions.
I am predicting the end of Facebook. It is no more than My Space part 2.
“... And there was a time in this country, a long time ago, when reading wasn’t just for fags and neither was writing. People wrote books and movies, movies that had stories so you cared whose ass it was and why it was farting, and I believe that time can come again!” - Not Sure (Idiocracy)
too bad since I forgo any videos and would rather read the word. I will be spending more time in a real building called a library. I will not mind that.
