Uhh. That’s not the sense I intended my comment. The desire to convert heathens is a good reason to favor immigration. And I wish my church would take proselytizing as seriously as the LDS does. I just don’t think the potential upside merits the risks and costs of immigration.

Not at all, convert them where they are, if you can. Immigration to the US should be based upon what is of benefit to the USA as a whole, bringing people already strongly devoted to US values and able to contribute economically in ways that We the People need. There are 7+ billion people in the world and the USA cannot be the home and salvation for all of them, not remotely close.

Consider the following regarding mormon "proselytizing"...
